Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

re "Some Employers" Are Wary: Really? Only some? Only if you count the dweebs and no-hopers in the HR department. No hiring manager would voluntarily take on someone who advertises that they are mentally ill. (That is not because they are mean or bigoted, but rather because there are no jobs that require mental illness as an essential skill).
Hiring people is a difficult, time-consuming process. It is a performance on both sides. But when somebody tells you who they are, you believe them. It's a gift. Why do Muslims hate dogs so much?
Lemme guess... Because they're not halal? Three cheers for Ruby LaRocca. I'd generalize her excellent advice about learning languages to something like "learn to focus on building skills to perform at an expert level."
For example, this delightful excursion into urban geography and history from Tyler Vigen, The Mystery of the Bloomfield Bridge. What Happens When Woke Writers and Editors Clash With Their Publisher?
From the article: "This goes to show what we’ve seen with the left a million times: if you’re not down with wokeness and leftists can’t cancel you, they will take their ball and go home when they don’t get their way." If only. Hollywood and Disney are in the same trenches... and I just don't care. Sportsball... same trenches and I just don't care. Go woke and eventually go broke.
The Bolshevik enemedia slime are out to burn it all down by any means necessary.
Who knows how a world conquering tour is going to work after destroying it all from within. They are responsible for the COV-LARP as I witnessed a senior oldster break down in tears one day after over exposure to that mind rot slime oozing out of the teevee. They don't apologize and a high KIA count is a feature to them. Pope Francis baffles me. What’s more, he gives Jesuits a bad name. I suppose we the unfaithful deserve him. Seventy percent of practicing Catholics don’t believe in the real presence of God in the Eucharist. It is way past time to admit that a lot of what came out of Vatican II is not working.
Federal agencies are out of control, and working contrary to the guiding principles of the Constitution. I’ve received several letters from the IRS recently. Two of them concerning my sister who passed away 4 years ago. I was the court appointed administrator of the estate, she left no will. I sent paper work to the IRS as soon as I received my appointment. I never heard a word from them until two weeks ago. They wanted all the information I gave them 4 years ago. The second letter I received was from the IRS concerning my diseased father-in-law. He passed away in 2018. I’m the Trustee for the Estate. They wanted all the paperwork work I sent in upon his death. Last week I received a letter from them explaining that they need an additional 60 days. Huh? Can I tell the IRS that I need an additional 60 days? Not without additional fines, interest and perhaps imprisonment. 87,000 new agents need something to do. Are you serious about reducing the scope and size of the federal government? Want to live in true freedom? Repeal the slavery act, better known as the Sixteenth Amendment. The Sixteenth Amendment grants the government unlimited authority over your property. Astonished cops pull over driver cruising on a highway in Nebraska with a massive Watusi bull called...
Police pulled over a driver on a Nebraska highway with an unusual passenger - a massive Watusi bull called Howdy Doody. The officers had been tipped off about the bizarre duo by other drivers who said they saw a cow in the passenger seat on August 30. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12465461/Cops-pull-driver-cruising-Nebraska-highway-massive-Watusi-bull-passenger.html It's not surprising Muslims don't like dogs. I don't think they like anyone or anything very much, including each other.
Anyone drawn to the Latin Mass would likely benefit from attending a Maronite Liturgy, too. Solemnity over frivolity, with portions spoken in the language JC used.

QUOTE: Kimberley Miner, a professor at Virginia Tech and the University of Maine, shared a story of breaking down in tears when she realized a California drought would mean some blue oaks would die. Joe Biggs Sentenced to 17 Years, Judge Applies ‘Terrorism’ Enhancement I believe he helped tear down a fence. https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2023/08/31/proud-boy-joe-biggs-sentenced-to-17-years-after-judge-applies-terrorism-enhancement/ and Texas Man Arrested on Felony and Misdemeanor Charges for Actions During Jan. 6 Capitol Breach QUOTE: A Texas man has been arrested on felony and misdemeanor charges related to his actions during the breach of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. His actions and the actions of others disrupted a joint session of the U.S. Congress convened to ascertain and count the electoral votes related to the 2020 presidential election. Philip Anderson, 28, of Mesquite, Texas, is charged in a criminal complaint filed in the District of Columbia with felony offenses of civil disorder and obstruction of an official proceeding. In addition to the felonies, Anderson is charged with misdemeanor offenses of entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds; disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds; and disorderly conduct in a Capitol building. Anderson was arrested on Aug. 29, 2023, in Mesquite, Texas, and will make his initial appearance today in the Northern District of Texas. One wonders how much money the Feds spent tracking this desperate fugitive down? I wonder if they are as diligent tracking real criminals? https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:-iNSSsGjjE8J:https://www.justice.gov/usao-dc/pr/texas-man-arrested-felony-and-misdemeanor-charges-actions-during-jan-6-capitol-breach-3&cd=9&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us I believe that the J6 Defendents lawyers are not doing their job. The DC judges are corrupt and these trails and sentences are proof it is a kangaroo court. Where are the effective appeals? Where is justice?
There are no laws for "Them" any more as the entire judicial system is broken and corrupt. Many of the people charged have had longer sentences handed down to them then those that commit murder. It all makes me sick to my stomach.
feeblemind: I believe he helped tear down a fence.
Biggs was convicted of seditious conspiracy. OneGuy: Where are the effective appeals? The most important appeal concerned the prosecution of rioters under the obstruction of an official proceeding statute, 18 U.S. Code § 1505. See United States v. Fischer. Thus, there have been appeals, but they broke the law, so they will pay the price. JC: Many of the people charged have had longer sentences handed down to them then those that commit murder. Seditious conspiracy is a particularly heinous crime because it strikes at the entire nation. Seditious conspiracy! Is that what they were all charged with???
IF they could actually prove the charge of Seditious conspiracy to a jury of their peers WHY try them in a court that is fixed and the jurist are decidedly NOT their peers? IF I were and "honest" prosecutor or judge I would not allow my self and my good name to be tainted by this kangaroo court. I would be ashamed to knowingly sit a biased jury to get a guilty verdict that I knew I could never get in an honest court. Everyone involved in this, judges, prosecutors and staff. should be punished for this travesty and should never be allowed to enter court again except as a defendant. OneGuy: IF they could actually prove the charge of Seditious conspiracy to a jury of their peers WHY try them in a court that is fixed and the jurist are decidedly NOT their peers
Huh? Why not? Do you know what a jury of peers means in American jurisprudence? |
