We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

THE IMMIGRATION DISASTER, NEW YORK EDITION

At Powerline.  I understand the crossing of the Rio Grande illegally, but how did all of those Africans get to NYC? Strange.


The Roosevelt, next to Grand Central Terminal, used to be a hotel.

I wonder how much wealth the German parliamentarian Johannes Wagner has. Since he is advocating redistribution of wealth, surely he includes his own.

As for Lurch, he is so profoundly ignorant he probably thinks food just magically appears in the kitchen to be brought to him by his serfs.

Probably the same way all the Somalis came to Lexington, Nebraska.

As I understand it from an article I read some years back, NGOs can profit from moving Africans over here. The money comes from Uncle Sam and on a per head basis, exceeds the cost of bringing them over.

I wish I had a link but the story was written a long time ago.

I believe NGO's is the correct answer. Do you realize how many thousands of non-profit* charities there are out there that subsist on government grants?

*Non-profit doesn't mean the staff and officers of the grift don't make a good living off of the scam.

And who is providing and paying for the bus travel services from the Darrien Gap to the US border? Curious people want to know, especially taxpayers.
