We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
I am in my eightieth year and I have met more folks with masters and doctorate degrees who were idiots and morons than those who were carpenters, electricians, plumbers, auto mechanics etc. My time is short and I am using it wisely, puns intended but not time sensitive.
Time is simply how humans measure change. The change in one object with the regular occurring change in another object = sun moon, stars. If the earth was completely cloud-covered and celestial objects were not seen or noticed; how would we "tell time"?

Another 80 year-old here, and a veteran of 37 years of teaching/research at an elite college and a major university.
Yeah, there are lot's of fools with Ph. D.'s on faculties, and there are more than a few criminals, too. It's absolutely the worst in so-called colleges of education, which are full of posturing semiliterate charlatans, and most faculty in the humanities and social sciences should be fired, but there are many charlatans and criminals in STEM, too. None of the biological and environmental sciences is legitimate.
Physicists mumbling about time can be safely ignored. Just don't let them get near your kids.
