Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

Yale Professor Wokester: Mandatory ‘Mass Suicide’ of Elderly Professors a Solution to ‘Japan’s America's Rapidly Aging Society Academy’
There. I fixed it. Almost every article referenced here today deals with either the extortion by the left to force their agenda or the punishment the left imposes for objecting to or noticing the extortion. This "power" they have created through coercion, intimidation, bulling and threatening Is a grave threat to our constitutional republic. Make no mistake their power is growing and absolute power corrupts absolutely. They will use this power on your kids to create a indoctrinated neo-Nazi youth force to infiltrate all aspects of our government and public institutions. Absolute power is what they want and nothing good ever comes from absolute power.
Cancel culture: The Dixie Chicks, Colin Kaepernick and Nike, Target, Jane Fonda, Nascar, Kathy Griffin, Michelle Wolf, French Fries, and, of course, the 2020 election.
People voting with their dollars is just like demanding people be fired and shunned, isn’t it. And Kaepernick turned down a player option (canceled himself) and Fonda made propaganda for the enemy, but great list.
Hoss: People voting with their dollars is just like demanding people be fired and shunned, isn’t it.
From the examples above: Billionaire author, J.K. Rowling, was subject to an "outcry," "negative headlines," "distancing," and "boycotts." Conspirarcy theory aficionado, Naomi Wolf, was kicked off Twitter for propagating what Twitter, exercising its free speech right to moderate their forum, considered misinformation about COVID. People voting with their dollars does cause people to lose their jobs or livelihood. Those are not distinct categories. And people on both the political left and the political right criticize, boycott, and call for firings. People have the right to criticize, boycott, and call for firings. However, people can act like mobs, and sometimes overreact, especially with regards to private individuals who can get caught up in a social media storm. However, people like Rowling and Wolf are public figures, so are generally able to mount an effective response. There is a balance to be struck, but the problem affects both the political left and the political right. The political right seems to whine about it more, though. QUOTE: President Trump: Wouldn’t you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, "Get that son of a bitch off the field right now. Out! He’s fired. He’s fired!" I read the Rowling story and it was interesting with a few unexpected twists. But what stuck out for me is "Her experience of escaping a physically and psychologically abusive marriage." Sorry, I am so tired of famous people baring their intimate lives , and as we often find out later, lies about their intimate lives. Shut up about your EX. No one cares. Maybe she is 100% accurate, so what, no ones cares. Maybe if we talked to here EX we would hear about her foibles and quirks and take pity on him, but no one cares.
We had to listen to all the stories about Harvey Weinstein and I suspect that they were all true. Essentially he traded sex for jobs and success in the movie industry. I trade that many young actresses jumped at eagerly and knowingly and then some 20 years later got revenge. So who is the bigger asshole? Someone who asks for sex in trade for making your career or someone who eagerly accepts that deal gets a great career and then 20 years later stabs him in the crotch? I suspect that is the case with Bill Cosby as well, and I doubt they were the only two.
There is a difference between Global warming and AGW.
Of course there is global warming the science predicted it for over 170 years. When the mini Ice age ended around 1850 the climate warmed up. That is what it was supposed to do and if it didn't then the mini ice age didn't end. AGW supposes that humans can change the climate and that CO2 is the change instrument. Illogical on both counts. The sun and our orbit around the sun are the biggest factors in climate change we humans are barely a pimple on the ass of a climate grifter. In our entire existence we have had less effect on the climate than one good volcanic eruption has had. In fact our climate effect is too close to zero to measure. As for CO2, it doesn't change the climate it is a lagging indicator of the earths climate and not something we can change. BUT, there is good news. After the end of the mini ice age mother nature did increase the CO2 in the atmosphere slightly and THAT allowed our plant life to grow faster and fuller. We need that to feed the 8 billion people. But the bad news is we will more than likely see another mini ice age and it will probably kill half the life, all life, on the planet. Until then I'm going to the beach/swimming pool. OneGuy: That is what it was supposed to do and if it didn't then the mini ice age didn't end.
That's not an empirical claim but a tautology. It's warming because the interglacial ended. The interglacial ended because its warming. OneGuy: AGW supposes that humans can change the climate and that CO2 is the change instrument. Lowly cyanobacteria caused the Great Oxygen Extinction Event. It has to do with exponential growth. OneGuy: Illogical on both counts. Huh? Either scenario could be logically true. It's not a logical question but an empirical one. OneGuy: The sun and our orbit around the sun are the biggest factors in climate change Milankovitch cycles are certainly an important factor in changes to Earth's climate system. However, they work on much too long of time scales to account for the current observed warming, and would actually predict a slight cooling. Milankovitch Orbital Data Viewer OneGuy: As for CO2, it doesn't change the climate it is a lagging indicator of the earths climate Atmospheric carbon dioxide is both a cause and effect, a feedback. If the Earth cools, for whatever reason (such as due to Milankovitch cycles), the oceans will absorb more carbon dioxide, further cooling the planet. If the Earth warms, for whatever reason (such as due to Milankovitch cycles), the oceans will emit more carbon dioxide, further warming the planet. Similarly, changes in ice cover amplifies the warming and cooling trends. The ice ages are not explainable without accounting for these feedbacks. Indeed, the Earth's climate has two relatively stable equilibria; ice ages and ice-free ages. The climate scare narrative will disappear as the economic outlook continues to decay. Climate and race concerns are "good times" venues.
As I've often said, it's nothing a good famine won't cure. If you're worried about crap like this, your life is too comfortable. You think starving people in Africa are worried about global warming?
Comrade AMLO recently stated that 40 million lifetime CPUSA voters or Mexicans are in North Mexico.

Heads up all of those living east of Ohio, the toxic cloud from a an intentional explosion to deal with a train derailment brought on by an illegitimate occupational government at WAR with the host country on order of its external paymasters is headed your way.
