Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Well, there is the news that the military shot down 'an object' over Alaska. I'm assuming from their reluctance to call it an aircraft that it was a kite. Or an asteroid. Odd that the water was too cold to shoot down the original Chinese balloon but now the water is not too cold. Dang global warming. Not sure why the balloon was not a major breach but this object apparently was, was it Russian?

Watching the news is like playing chess with an idiot savant or an idiot and you never know which one it is making the moves. What is the true story behind this latest twist of China's incursion into our airspace with spy drones/balloons? Oh! Look, a squirrel.

FBI retracts leaked document orchestrating investigation of Catholics

The B&W photos accompanying that video were poignant. Somewhere in my basement I have hundreds of B&W negatives I took in NYC in 1970. Sadly, it's too expensive to get them developed or scanned.

Eric Adams is praising the lockdowns, mandates and masks saying they will probably need to happen again because people can't just do what they want. Aside from the fact that it has all been proven to be ineffective and it is now widely accepted as having been unconstitutional Adams apparently believes this was justified and worth another try. Think about that. A weak ineffective mayor of our largest city can't get crime under control with the best police force in the nation and he dreams about bringing back the tyranny of lockdowns and mandates. Why are left wing politicians so stupid?
