We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Stalingrad anniversary is today!
This just in from Putin-No Lebensraum in Russia for you.
No one said that disaster capitalism or anarcho-tyranny would be easy.
Maintain morale by any means necessary and the Fundamental Transformation will be even worse.
Locally teens in the morning 20-30 degrees in the day depending on ol' Sol, quarter of an inch of snow after hyping up 8"-9" which never arrived.

Like watching the Christmas Carole every Christmas season.
It really is a delightful little fable and morality tale. Too bad that Harold Ramis died so young, and also that he and Murray fell out over the production - but good that they were able to forgive each other in the end. There were a few scenes that were cut completely from the film, I guess in the interest of time, that are fun to watch - Phil Collins the hustling pool shark, and so on.
One quote: "One can also argue that there is a theological dimension to Phil’s transformation. Part of his conversion involves recognizing that there is a God and he is not it."
