We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Yup. That's pretty much what everything looks like, or looked like last week until we got a blast of warm weather today. In January in Vermont, 'warm' means anything over about 20ºF, but still not quite shorts weather for us yet.
It's 35º at the moment so all that beautiful snow is turning to slush which will freeze up and turn the roads into a hellscape as soon as the temperatures drop tonight. Drive safely, tourists.
Kinda looks like that here. We got 14" here in south central Nebraska a week or more ago and not much has melted. More snow and colder weather is on the way.
I was just getting ready to say that a #81B warming filter would have produced a better rendering of that scene, but then I remembered that (almost) no one uses film any more.
But, filters also work on digital cameras, and the results are generally better than trying to "fix it in post" (i.e. using editing software).
