Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

"the green energy cul-de-sac.”
What the English can do is huddle in the cold at a friends house where they all chip in to pay for the thermostat set at 50 degrees. This is a great way to survive their stupid government AND it will still allow them to pay their incredibly high taxes so that the illegal immigrants can be housed in heated accommodations. There! Problem fixed. A lot of hype now in the last week before mid-terms. "Red Wave" - it is certain to sweep the land.
If you've learned anything over the past decade, it should be that you should never, ever, ever, trust the printed word. You should never, ever, buy in to the message without first seeing the proof and evaluating it for yourself, with your own intellect. And that goes double for an entity that promises that it's aligned with your views. Treat them all as the setup artists and propagandists that they are. There may be modest gains. We'll see. This story is now unfolding, after the purchase of Twitter: https://theintercept.com/2022/10/31/social-media-disinformation-dhs/ Bear in mind that this collusive effort began with the Arab Spring, in 2009 - under Obama. The documents have come to light based on a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) suit brought by a candidate running for Senate, and former AG from Missouri, alogn with 14 other states. Good points about the printed word.
And what is the "red wave" going to actually DO? So far they will talk, conduct an investigation, solicit you for more money for their re-election campaign and do what exactly? Build a wall and keep illegals out and throw out the ones here. Control federal spending and eliminate programs including defense spending around the world. Devolve powers back to the states? Please let me know the names of those politicians willing to do any of those things. There are several (Rand Paul and Ted Cruz come to mind immediately), but part of their problem is twofold, at least: One, they are presently in the minority and hence have very little committee power, and two, they get zero positive press coverage because their views and political ideas (including bills, debates, committee work, etc) are against Democrat doctrine - hence it must not be covered, lest it garner support.
Washington DC is a vastly corrupting enterprise, and it is difficult for any Congressman to withstand the constant onslaught. Not just appeals to accept corrupting acts, but it's truly difficult to get anything done within that bureaucratic system. Most legislative bills that Congressmen bring to the floor have been drafted by special interests, who are the only ones that have the kind of manpower necessary to do the work. Like that. It's an ugly, flawed, corrupted system and it would be worth breaking it into little pieces, except for all the other political systems which are worse.. If you want to understand how difficult it is for Congressmen, try following just one bill from start to finish. https://www.govtrack.us/ Pick one that you have a vested interest in. It's not easy. Re: Why Lifelong Democrats in Oregon Say They’re Ready to Vote Red
My question is why did it take them so long. One would think that after there was basically no repercussion from burning down a police precinct it would be a clue that the Democrats in charge don’t have your best interests at heart. Should convicts have to earn their keep? Absolutely. In addition repeat offenders should have large fines levied against them.
Did you know that the always sunny state of California does not have this requirement, does not punish shop lifting below 900$, and our state also does not follow up on any fines & penalties if you move? Wink wink nudge nudge, here is a free bus ticket for you, we will even throw in a month of food stamps. I believe it was PJ O'Rourke who said "Drugs are a one-person birthday party. You don't get any gifts you didn't bring yourself."
Officially lost its grip on reality... I think they have a firm grip on a doobie and wishful thinking. Reality... not so much.

I don't know of anything on the internet that is worth the price of subscription. Iran: Panicking regime officials seek UK passports as families flee on flights from Tehran

https://americanmilitarynews.com/2022/11/us-forces-now-on-the-ground-in-ukraine/ Just seven days until the election. What are the odds of something big happening before next Tuesday to distract and dissuade? A false flag attack in the Middle East? A terrorist attack? A nuclear "event"? What???
Well the San Francisco DA's office has made a public statement about Paul Pelosi's attacker. And she came out strongly against misinformation on the case. But she offered no answers and they are holding back things that are normally publicly available. Why would she do that? Well of course because what they are holding back would not support the public story they are trying to sell us. It is so obvious and so crazy that it cannot be defended. All they can do is criticize Americans for looking at what is known and drawing a conclusion that is different from what they are telling us. The plot thickens...
