Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

How about that war on drugs? What a colossal waste of resources. Work on preserving the family, a mom and dad, and huge amounts of disfunction will go away. A close family that follows the laws of God, is the best family.
Do you have to be an imbecile to work for MSNBC? Nicolle Wallace:“We are watching Republicans not just destroying democracy in the dark…we’re watching them do it from rally stages, debate stages! That’s where they’re doing it!” So, out in the open, ralling people to the conservative side. Presenting people with opposing ideas. Democracy dies on the conservative campaign rally stage. If Trump is involved, it has to be bad. And 30-40 percent of the people in this country believe this. Sad. Lord have mercy. Christ have mercy. Lord have mercy. Ps: If you want to know what destroying democracy in the dark looks like, pay close attention to Biden, especially the actions of Merrick Garland and his Gestapo FBI. Calling CPS: Wow, what a breathless and vapid story, designed to get everyone in a rage. I wonder what really happened?? Stories like this are why I don't get excited about the mid-term elections and the prospect of Conservatives winning - the conservative press is just as empty and devoid of critical analysis as the Legacy Corporate Main Stream Media is. Nice work, guys - you've made yourself useless, too.
By the way, Leavitt is the same ass clown that terrorized a Target employee over a mis-priced electric toothbrush, calling the World's attention to this travesty of fairness. He's a self-righteous prick that just needs to be p*nched, preferably in the face. I believe calling Leavitt a "journalist" is an insult to journalists (hard as that my be to wrap your head around) since he's just a Twitter troll.
QUOTE: Muhammad/Mohammed/Mohammad Still Top Baby Boy Name in UK Only about 4.4% of UK's population is Muslim. However, a high percentage of Muslims choose Muhammad as a baby's name, while non-Muslim choose from a larger variety of names. Overall, less than 1% of newborn babies are named Muhammad. QUOTE: Is this a positive or negative drift. What do you think? Leave your comments below to have your say. They asked, so here are some of the highest rated comments:
"The UK will be returning to the stone age !" "#RememberByzantium" "Look who’s talking. Pedro will be the number one name in America next year" "Islam spreads like a cancer, if you let it." "Civilization do not die. They commit suicide." "How a war like death cult attracts this many followers is insane." As always, Zach's being disingenuous.
The commenters are of course refering to cities such as Birmingham, where in 2001, Muslims made up about 14% of the population. By 2011, that percentage had risen to 22% and is still climbing. I believe London is home to the largest mosque in Europe. Muslims there and elsewhere in the UK are not, in general, adopting English culture as their own. RJP: The commenters are of course refering to cities such as Birmingham
The article is about baby names in the U.K., not the number of babies named Muhammad in Birmingham. Furthermore, "The UK decided to commit national suicide," and "The UK will be returning to the stone age !" clearly refer to the U.K. as a whole. Our comment provided a statistical context, which you ignored. RJP: Muslims there and elsewhere in the UK are not, in general, adopting English culture as their own. You'd think it was a free country or something. Yeah, why won't people assimilate in the way you want them to? You're such a waste of time, I hate that I'm writing this. I'm done after this post, going back to the much more interesting exercise-related posts.
I didn't ignore your 'statistical context', I showed it was irrelevant and misleading. From the article: QUOTE: "It tells us that Muhammad was the most popular baby’s boys name in four out of nine regions. North West, Yorkshire and the Humber, West Midlands (where Birmingham is located) and London." Birmingham and London are the UK's two largest cities. You're saying what happens there has no predicitive power and is irrelvant in regards to trends for the rest of the country. Pfft. Why did you choose to cite Jews as a problem? Interesting. This despite them being outnumbered by Muslims in the UK 10 to 1. Jews also happen to have just about the highest intermarriage rate of any religious group in the world, meaning they readily assimilate to other cultures. RJP: I didn't ignore your 'statistical context', I showed it was irrelevant and misleading.
The point, which you did not address, was that {checks stats} less than 1% of newborns are named Muhammad, and this is somehow "national suicide" or "returning to the stone age". RJP: Birmingham and London are the UK's two largest cities. As with many previous immigrant groups, Muslims are not evenly distributed, but tend to congregate in ethnic urban neighborhoods. RJP: Why did you choose to cite Jews as a problem? We don't consider people who maintain aspects of their culture to be a problem. As with Muslims or people of Chinese descent, the vast majority of Hasidic Jews in Britain consider themselves to be British, even if they don't meet your personal requirements of Britishness.

I'm ready for the glorious upcoming victories over Russia, Iran, North Korea, China, Saudi Arabia. Yes we can!
Team Brandon hates America to their bone marrow and will erase it from existence in a Wagnerian orgy of blood, fire, and death. These things happen. Forward! Regarding the story about Shakespeare:
There is a short paragraph in the story that exposes it all and applies to the entire left wing agenda. "“If we only teach students of color, as I have been fortunate to do my entire career, then it is far past the time for us to dispense with our Eurocentric presentation of the literary world. Conversely, if we only teach white students, it is our imperative duty to open them up to a world of diversity through literature that they may never encounter anywhere else in their lives,” wrote Dusbiber." In other words if you are white you can benefit by learning things from POC but if you are a POC you shouldn't have to learn anything from white people. How is this different from the philosophy of the KKK? It is racism pure and simple. Our government has changed the way they calculate inflation to make it appear lower. Their claim that the inflation rate is 8.3% is a lie it is actually 17.3%.
A similar thing is true in the unemployment rate. When you count all the unemployed people the rate is 24.4% Everything is much worse than they are reporting and it is likely that some or all of the truth will come out after the election. Meanwhile the FED keeps propping up Wall Street behind the scenes. They will likely stop that as well after the election. But it is just as likely that the market will collapse far beyond the ability of the FED to prop it up. I ate Spam as a child, born in the early 40's Spam was a thing, a remanent of WW II I think. It was available and cheap. I liked it. I still like it some 80 years later. But it has a bad reputation. Because of what I had always heard about Spam and what was in it I did some research and Spam is actually made from the two best cuts of pork and now pig ears and nasty bits. Spam is good food, a little salty, but I actually like that.
I also grew up eating baloney and liverwurst neither of which I hated. As a pre-school child I had a lot of baloney sandwiches and tomato soup lunches. I will admit I was always doubtful about the ingredients in liverwurst but it was OK. Spam is obviously popular or it would no longer be on the grocery store shelves. It is particularly popular in places like Hawaii and Samoa.
I don't buy it because I think it is too expensive for what you get, but that's just me. Yeah, I used to hear the stories about lip,s ears, and snouts going into sausage, wieners, Spam and such. but they don't go into those products. I like Spam but what I appreciate about it is that it is a canned meat that does not need refrigeration until opened.
For those that feel it is necessary to keep a few extra food items on hand then Spam along with canned chicken, tuna, and sardines make a great stash in the meat category. The reason I bought two cans of spam was to have a little meat besides canned chicken if emergency food is needed.
I like Spam also, but compared to whole cuts of meat it's way too expensive.
Liverwurst is good, and so is liver mush, but that's hard to find outside of the deep south. As far as Tulsi Gabbard goes, she's suddenly the darling of the Right because she has repudiated the Progressives. She's still a Liberal who champions Big Government, although admittedly many Republicans do as well, she's no conservative. I've seen way too many "Trump/Gabbard 2024" memes to suit me.
