Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

'I Never Wanted Kids. Number Six Is Due In a Few Months. We just outgrew our Honda Odyssey'
Born-again Christian since 1998 an also anti-natalist. I know that sounds like an oxymoron, but it's clear that we're living in the last days, and people like the woman in that article are in for very tough times in the coming years. I had to look up anti-natalism. I'm quite sorry now that I did.
The idea that procreation is somehow morally wrong strikes me as fundamentally inhuman. so I had to look up anti-natalist too. Based on the definition there are no anti-natalist because they would have committed suicide. So those who claim to be anti-natalists are lying.
Yes. Reminds me of those who want us to die off in order to depopulate the planet.
My response: "OK then, lead by example. You go first." It's more than just inhuman. It can be applied to all life. At its heart, it's anti-creation. It's an easy thing to slip into because it takes little effort and rewards self-pity. A lot of people find those things appealing.
Re: large families. The wife and I are leaving this week to visit Alaska, where our son and his wife live with 8 children (aged 10-1 1/2). Due to visiting ailing parents, COVID, and work, I've yet to meet the youngest five kids. Despite our having five kids, a house of 8 will be something to get used to.
It'll be a bit chaotic, but fun. More whining from the NY City mayor about the expense of the illegals. My simple mind does not understand this. Why spend a cent on them? Why visit them at the bus stop? Why should citizens be taxed to support people who are here illegally? I say this regardless of what the federal policy is; why should a city or a state spend one red cent on illegals?
You are highlighting the hypocrisy between how the policy is sold, as being welcoming to migrants, versus the actual implementation, non-cooperation with ICE, which is mostly about sticking a finger in the eye of those Red State deplorables who want a secure border.
What Adams, Lightfoot, et al are ultimately mad about is Republicans discovering Alinsky (Rule 4 : "Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules"). Mayor Adams is being visited by the sin's reward of of signalling virtue: You can ignore reality, but you can't ignore the consequences of ignoring reality.
Official GOV. Data confirms COVID Vaccinated Children are 4423% more likely to die than Unvaccinated Children.

ah, a conspiracy theory/anti-vaxxer site.
Why wasn't I surprised. Everyone has the exact same chance of dying, and it's 100%. It may be an anti-vaxxer site but if the story is true, which is seems to be why isn't it reported in all the newspapers? At this point the only thing we are sure of relating to the Covid vaccine is that the government and the MSM are lying and covering up the truth AND that it is the alternative sources that are breaking through this censorship.
"Everyone has the exact same chance of dying, and it's 100%." I assume you don't have children. Imagine if you did have someone you cared about and you encouraged them to take the vax because all the media sources are pushing it and then they died as a result of the vax. Would you simply say "c’est la vie, Everyone has the exact same chance of dying, and it's 100%."

And that's exactly how misinformation propagates. Rather than verifying the facts, or even applying ordinary skepticism, it becomes a tabloid at the checkout line, "What If It's True? Obama Is an Alien Reptile!" QUOTE: In 1736 I lost one of my sons, a fine boy of four years old, by the smallpox taken in the common way. I long regretted bitterly and still regret that I had not given it to him by inoculation. This I mention for the sake of the parents who omit that operation, on the supposition that they should never forgive themselves if a child died under it; my example showing that the regret may be the same either way, and that, therefore, the safer should be chosen. — Ben Franklin

How do you know? I think it is more likely that what you just said is misinformation. Where are the fact checkers? Oh! That's right they are part of the misinformation cabal. The bottom line is anything you read or hear could be misinformation. So what! That has always been true. It is up to the individual to learn more. Posting information is part of that process. Censoring has been proven to be counter to our freedom to know what is happening in our government and the world. I would rather have too much information than only what the government allows me to see.

OneGuy: How do you know?
Propagating unverified information unskeptically means that misinformation will be propagated. OneGuy: The bottom line is anything you read or hear could be misinformation. Which is why we have rational means for discovering what is true and what is not, the primary means being a consilience of evidence. OneGuy: Censoring We didn't suggest censoring. We suggested that to avoid propagating misinformation you should be at least some skeptical of passing on information with doubtful provenance.

They even give the answer in your link. They can't release information that includes individual identification. However, anonymized data is available on their website.

You have to adjust for health condition. In the U.K., general vaccination for children 12-15 didn't start until September 2021, and for under 12 not until February 2022, processes that took several months. Before then, children who were vaccinated had preexisting health problems such as cancer or heart disease, so a higher death rate is expected. Joe Biden is in trouble. The breakthrough reporting, as mentioned in the linked story, plus Saturday Night Live was making fun of Joe. Has the word gone out: it’s okay to go after Joe? Or, will the Gang of Z show up, telling us our lying eyes and ears are making things up? That could be the final nail in pedo Joes coffin. Stay tuned.
Thanks to "free" healthcare, euthanasia is now the leading cause of death in Canada. After Canada legalize euthanasia the quietly began denying health care to the most seriously ill patients and instead prescribing euthanasia. Funny how that works. Who could have seen this coming?
Don't worry it will be here soon enough when social security and medicare are more broke than now, it will be your patriotic duty to become soylent green. And those that decided to have no children will be among the first.
Something similar started happening in the Netherlands, despite it being illegal here for doctors to promote euthanasia.
Hospitals (not doctors directly...) started scheduling (without asking first) seriously ill patients in their care for "end of life counseling", which used to mean help dealing with the mental health side effects of knowing you don't have long to live but these hospitals were using the term to mean staff specially trained in talking people into asking for euthanasia. When my mom was diagnosed with terminal cancer (because of a serious medical error by that same hospital) that's what happened to her. We got suspicious, as we'd not asked for the appointment, researched the name of the "doctor", and found she has several publications about how to convince people they want to have their life terminated, had spoken on conferences about it. We canceled the appointment and alerted the ministry of health about this serious transgression, hospital was sanctioned as what they were doing was highly illegal. Few years later my father, after having suffered a bad stroke, WANTED to have euthanasia, and the same hospital denied it despite him having prior filed paperwork stating the conditions under which it should be applied (which is possible here) but the hospital denied it claiming they thought they could heal the damage (they couldn't, and they knew it, they just smelled a fat check from our insurance company). Belarus has mined the roads that connect them to Russia and Ukraine and have called up their reserves and are preparing for war.
yup, after Russia activated an old treaty from the CIS days that places Belorussian forces under Russian command in times of war I think.
Ukraine anticipated this and strengthened its border with Belorussia last week. VDH on civilization. That thin veneer WILL get much thinner to the point of transparency. The ugly is near.
My Grandfather put together our family history going back to the 1600s. On Ancestry.com, I added to it. After all that work, I've found that nobody wants it.
