We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Pink Floyd was a heck of a successful rock group. A founder, Syd Barrett, became schizophrenic but seems to have remained a shadow member of the group. Sound and fury signifying nothing? You be the judge.
Pink Anderson and Floyd council is where the name comes from.
The hidden message on the Wall double album is a goody with Roger Chalfont and an obvious shout out to Syd.
Gotta be careful with those liquid vials of LSD as just a few drops can make a blotter sheet.
Sound and fury at times, outstanding musicianship at all times.
Lately listening to awesome electro group Illektrolab who samples the Floyd masterfully and there is the reggae dub Easy Star All-Stars Dark Side of the Moon tribute.
The problem has arisen because popular entertainers like Waters (yeah, some people regard him as some kind of musical genius, but let's face it, his music is pitched at popular tastes) have conflated their mass popularity with a sign that they are genius at everything. In that regard, they are like people who have achieved great wealth. Or politicians who have achieved high national office. They begin to believe that their popularity equates with intelligence and insight. Anyone come to mind?
