Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

..."what Republicans lack right now is a party leader who prioritizes the best interests of the party and its voters. This affects the party’s ability to recruit the best candidates, get them nominated, and get them elected. One of the essential conservative critiques of Donald Trump as a party leader has always been that everything was about Trump..."
He said a mouthful without realizing it: Republican Party leadership is a failure, and has been for some time. The problem is that the interests of the Republican Party Establishment are not aligned with their base - the two are not in the same group any more, and the Party is more aligned to the so-called 'Uniparty', the inside-the-beltway interests. Then he proceeds with the It's-All-About-Trump smear to underscore it. Message to the Republican Party: The base knows about Trump's ego - it's part of the entertainment attraction, and they couldn't care less because he uses it to his tactical benefit. You are out of touch with what the base needs, and will have. Your existence is tied to the voter's preferences. I always enjoy these links. Thanks.
I totally agree. This is a great example of why of given up on NR. I don’t knowingly go there any more. Their idea of sketchy matches my idea of pol that fights. I think they are cowards afraid of the ideas that, once upon a time, endorsed. "Dem Rep. Tim Ryan Says..."
The left is trying to incite violence so they will have an issue to divert attention from their own failures and shift to socialists in a vain hope that they can win in November. I suspect that if they don't get any mentally ill person to do something as a result of all their name calling and agitation that they will pull off some kind of false flag attack in October. The evidence of a real insurrection is everywhere https://www.libertystorch.info/2022/09/14/this-stinks-more-and-more-every-day/ and they intend to make it all worse after they steal the next election https://www.libertystorch.info/2022/09/14/what-the-usurpers-want-most-of-all/ so get ready to live under tyranny.
re Dem Rep. Tim Ryan Says US Needs To “Kill And Confront” “Extremist” Republican Movement…
Could that be interpreted to mean “Kill And Confront” “Extremist” Republicans? After all, if you kill the Republicans, by extension, you kill the movement. Regarding "extremists" and "violence", this video is a must-see:
https://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2022/09/whos-extreme-2.php Almost honest:
"Godard had once commented that his grandfather “was anti-Jew; whereas I am anti-Zionist, he was antisemitic." Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell slept with a Chinese communist spy Fang Fang and no one cared. In fact Fang Fang slept with a large number of Democrat politicians, and no one cared. Shouldn't we investigate this? Maybe divert a few of the 100's of FBI agents persecuting Trump and his supporters to look into spygate? But wait, it gets worse. Biden his put a CCP spy in the white house. All of this while the FBI continues to hide what was in Hunter Biden's laptop much of which exposes Hunters conspiring with the CCP. Why do we stay silent for this? Why does our MSM not report on it?
Does anyone remember the Bizarro World episode, on Seinfeld? Elaine falls in with the opposite of Jerry, Kramer and George. Kramer has a job. Jerry is not a total narcissist and George is a caring, nice man. Elaine didn’t change, she was still a shallow neurotic. That’s what I feel like America is right now. We are living in Bizarro America. Freedom, independence, the rights of the individual and Constitutional government, are all bad things. Those of us that support these things are vile extremists, that need to be exterminated. Like Elaine, most democrats haven’t changed, they are now out of the closet, saying these things out loud. Yet, Joe Biden has 40% approval. Scary times. Why don’t these things bother the middle of the road independents?
At least I now have the answer to my lifelong burning question: How is it that so many people, allow their government to do such horrific things? Pains me to admit it, but people are not inherently good. I have to agree with you on these things. The other night at dinner I asked my spouse if they every felt like the were living on the wrong planet now. I really don't belong now according to much of our country.
I don't worry too much about how crazy things might seem, it's nothing a good famine won't fix. I figure between the coming collapse of the international order, the food and fuel shortages, the breaking of the electrical grid and the disconnect from reality of the credentialed "elites", there's going to be a lot of heads on pikes. Kind of like the Eloi and the Morlocks.
"This should be the absolute peak of hurricane season—but it’s dead quiet out there. Seasonal activity is running 50 percent below normal levels."
I've been watching hurricanes like a hawk since 2005, when I volunteered for a hurricane response team at my previous job could be activated within a few hours. Had to keep an eye on upcoming storms in the east Atlantic so I could give a heads-up to my boss. Beginning in 2020, the hurricane seasons have been unusually calm. This year especially so. [Adjusts tinfoil hat.] Looks like they're still working out some kinks in the system but overall hurricane management has slowly and quietly become a reality. Congrats to NOAA or to the Air Force, whoever is in charge of this program. A job well done. And before y'all call me cray-cray, I suggest you look closely at the data. Hurricanes have become qualitatively and quantitively different in the last three years. Certainly controlling the weather is something that governments would like to do - and the US has a heck of a lot more resources than other countries to spend on developing this sort of program. https://thehill.com/changing-america/sustainability/climate-change/584502-new-study-says-china-controlled-its-weather/ I'm calling cray-cray.
Anyone who lives on the East coast and is over the age of 50 or so absolutely knows that hurricanes are cyclical both in frequency and strength. What we are seeing now (and through out our recorded history) is normal and part of the cycle. Hurricanes have not changed. Global warming/cooling/give me free stuff/I'm gonna raise your taxes, has not affected hurricanes at all. In the future bigger and more frequent hurricanes will be back. We will see Florida, New Orleans, the Carolinas and Long Island hit with massive hurricanes (not all at once or even in the same year). It is cyclical. You have to be paying attention for 20-30-40 years to figure it out. You will not understand it if you listen to the talking heads. |
