We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Definitely husk on, it keeps the corn moist and sweet. I cheat a bit though: I peel the husk back, strip out the silk, and drizzle in a little olive oil, maybe salt and pepper or chili powder. Then close up the husks and onto the grill.
Breeding a crop or species for specific traits is NOT genetic engineering. You're as sloppy a "thinker" as the most egregiously ignorant leftists. "genetic engineering, the artificial manipulation, modification, and recombination of DNA or other nucleic acid molecules in order to modify an organism or population of organisms. The term genetic engineering is generally used to refer to methods of recombinant DNA technology, which emerged from basic research in microbial genetics. "
I like to soak the ears in water. Then I put them on the grill until the husks have quite a bit of black on them.
When I get them to that point I put them in a cooler where they stay hot all day. This frees the grill for meats and other goodies
