Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

As before, my linking gets rejected as spam, but the best summary of what is working about microdosing, what its potential is, what to beware of in shoddy research, and what the mechanism of help might be is from Scott Alexander at Astral Codex Ten, in his discussion of somatic and other novel therapies. More than one essay, and he is always over-thorough, but if readers are interested in getting high-quality objective analysis on the subject, he is your best start.
Some of us saw what BLM was and is, right from the outset. When you can’t say, all lives matter, it should be a clue as to the improper nature of an organization. BLM is just carrying on the legacy of Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson.
A man who came of age after the Civil War, recognized this trait in the souls of certain men: QUOTE: “There is another class of coloured people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs — partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs.” ~ Booker T. Washington (1965-1913) Of course, it’s not just POC that play the race game. Racism is hate, thus a tool of the devil and it doesn’t care what color your skin is. The devil delights in humans hating each other. What I find surprising is that the HuffPo, a leftist/liberal publication, would engage in BLM-bashing. That is, I am amazed that HuffPo has looked at the facts.
One salient example of BLM-as-scam was the visit of BLM co-ounder Opal Tometi to Maduro's Venezuela in 2015. Black Lives Matter Founder an Open Supporter of Socialist Venezuelan Dictator Maduro. QUOTE: “I am aware that justice also has to do with racial aspects,” assured Tometi, according to Venezuelan state media. “What we are experiencing is the manifestation of anti-black racism and this is state violence. It must be called by its name. Police brutality, the murders of blacks, violence against the Afro-descendant community, all is proof of the violence of the State,” said the Black Lives Matter founder.... In addition to meeting with and applauding Maduro at the New York summit, Tometi also served as an election observer in socialist Venezuela during the 2015 legislative elections. She praised the socialist dictatorship as “a place where there is intelligent political discourse” on Twitter during one of the bloodiest years of police brutality in the country. Compared to what? Caracas Chronicles: How Brutal Are Venezuelan Police Forces? QUOTE: The 2017 numbers say that there have been more civilian deaths at the hands of law enforcement agents in Venezuela than there are in Brazil, which has a population seven times greater. This means that over a quarter of homicides committed in Venezuela are carried out by the state. In Venezuela, police killed 4,998 civilians in 2017. In the United States, police kill about 1,000 civilians- armed or unarmed- a year. If Venezuela had the population of the US, police would have killed about 50,000 civlians in 2017. Fifty thousand versus one thousand. Yet Opal Tometi praised Venezuela. That is a horrific number killed by the police in Venezuela. The leadership of BLM, since I have become aware of them in 2019, have openly stated their pro-marxist beliefs.
Dennis Prager today was talking about the violence at University of Buffalo, over a speech by Allen West. Or, a speech he was to give. “No justice, no piece!” The woke students screamed. What does that even mean? Justice for who? They shout down Col. West for having the temerity to state that America is not a racist country. The black students on campus yell, “why are you oppressing me!” Whom is oppressing whom? Someone has pointed out, that in America, the demand for racism is far greater than the supply. The marxist won’t get the line, they don’t understand the supply vs demand curve. It’s oppressive. I notice that the BLM Marxists are pretty fastidious about selecting where they express their views. I personally haven't heard them give many speeches in Caracas or Havana, or even Moscow or Bejing for that matter. Not the kind of fertile ground their ideas are looking for, apparently.
Imagine every civilian in Venezuela owning a gun. It is so much more difficult to form and keep a tyrannical government with an armed and informed populace. Now imagine why Biden and the Democrats want to attack the 2nd amendment.
I wonder what has happened behind the scenes that has allowed BLM to be investigated--though only for its financial improprieties so far.
I'm not expert enough in the American version of Kremlinology to tell who's on the ascendant right now. If we understood the Kermlinology of the US government, we might also understand what the game plan is for Hunter’s laptop. Why did the NYT allow the reporting of the true nature of the laptop being Hunter’s?
I don’t understand why most Americans are so laissez-faire concerning the corruption of the federal government. Re: SNOWFALLS ARE NOW JUST A THING OF THE PAS

In 2007, a rig in Anaco in eastern Venezuela burned down. I e-mailed one of my former Petroleum Engineering professors about this. He replied that in recent inspection trips to Venezuela he had noticed a decided deterioration in maintenance. of oil-related facilities. Before Chavez took over PDAVA, Venezuela was producing 2.5-3 million BOPD. Venezuela currently produces about 700 thousand BOPD, which is an improvement from 300-400 thousand BOPD several years ago. (these figures are off the top of my head, but they are in the ballpark.) Hugo, Maduro and their friends believed that Venezuelan oil was like the goose that laid the golden eggs, that could not be destroyed. They found out differently. The equity scammmmmmm...It is tough to mandate equality of outcome if you maintain any standards. They are finally having to deal with their Gramscian race model and the model looks uglier by the day.
There is a great cartoon about equity. It shows three people watching baseball game over a fence. The tall person is head and shoulders above the fence. The middle height person has to stand on his tip toes and the short one cannot see over the fence. The second frame in the cartoon is equity in action. The short one is standing on a box, the middle one is standing on a shorter box and the tall one has his lower legs ripped off and is standing on his stumps. BUT there is equity as all can see over the fence.
So equity is good if you are the one to get the free stuff but if you are the one to have your legs ripped off it's not so good. Treasure Hunters Believed They’d Found $500 Million in Civil War Gold. Then the FBI Swooped In.
