Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

"Some of the activism is understandable: No one wants to pay extra for two airplane seats or be shut out of a million-dollar modeling contract."
Nobody wants to pay full price for a seat only to find that they can only access 60% of it because of the over-stuffed neighbor that spilling out of his seat, either. Misery-in-place for the whole flight. AND if you're trying to use legislation to make people approve of your personal preferences, you're doing it wrong. I’m so glad Congress has finally passed legislation to curb the discrimination against hair styles. Did it include wording for bright color hair? Cause those chicks are crazy. Never trust a woman with bright blue hair. Did I just violate the law? This free speech business is getting harder and harder to tip toe around. Maybe Congress should work on changing the wording of the First amendment.
You know, at least in commie China, they provide good manufacturing jobs for their people. They take advantage of all the resources they have. What is going on with America’s version of communism? We won’t even manufacture all the solar panels we need. We will bury the used wind turbine blades, in Wyoming. I guess that is a none service sector job. If you wanted to destroy America, what would you do different? How could you accelerate the destruction. Joe Biden and the uniparty in D.C. value your input. Bright colored hair is indeed a tell. It might be "stay away I'm crazy" or the more mundane "I crave attention and don't care how I get it". In that way it is like the full body tats or arm and shoulder tats. Every animal with eyes and a brain makes decisions on what they see and even when it can be called discrimination it is never the less usually correct. Stay away from crazy.
I feel bad for obese people. For many it is not within their control, it is genetic. But to turn that around to hate or mere dislike of anyone who is not obese seems bizarre. I can tell you that is the goal. They suffered, real or imagined suffering because of their weight and your lack of understanding and now it's payback time bitch!. THAT is their goal, not so diffwerent than the POC or lgqtbi... It isn't about equality or being polite it is about payback for real or imagined slights. I have personal experience with the blue hair. Of course it is wrong to stereotype, but jeepers.
It may be morally wrong to stereotype but it may be foolish to not stereotype. If you get shot, mugged or just beat up in most big cities there is a 95% chance it will be by a black man.
B. Hammer: Did it include wording for bright color hair?
Probably not. The law only applies “if that hair texture or that hairstyle is commonly associated with a particular race or national origin”. It’s intended to close a loophole in anti-discrimination law. B. Hammer: Never trust a woman with bright blue hair. Did I just violate the law? Even if you had said to "Never trust a {n-word}," it generally wouldn't violate the law unless it affected employment or access to a public accommodation. On the other hand, you might be criticized or ostracized, as other people exercise their own freedom of speech and association. 'What’s The Long Game Behind Fat Pride?'
Lowering the standards. Fat pride = skinny envy. standards? we don' need no steenkin' standards!
it's all relative, y'see... /s Republican state legislatures start passing laws saying that public schools can’t teach one race is better than another, that people can’t be held responsible today for things their ancestors did in the past, etc., that subject matter related to sexuality can’t be taught to kindergarten through third graders. People are starting to push back against critical race theory and the ultra woke agenda in general.
And now suddenly the New York Times is in favor of free speech? They’ve been canceling people left and right for the last decade. Pardon me if I am skeptical of their newfound love for the first amendment. Food Supply Chains "Falling Apart" In Ukraine As "Imminent Famine" Risks Plague The World
QUOTE: Ukraine's top agricultural export products are corn and wheat. Before the invasion, Ukraine was the second-largest supplier of grains for the European Union and one of the largest suppliers for emerging markets in Asia and Africa. Breaking down the numbers, Ukraine produced 49.6% of global sunflower oil, 10% of global wheat, 12.6% of global barley, and 15.3% of global maize. Estimates via Black Sea research firm SovEcon show Ukraine's 2022 corn harvest could plunge as much as 35% from 41.9 million tons last year to 27.7 million tons this year because of all the disruptions. Farmers are already reporting diesel and fertilizer shortages. Wheat harvests are also expected to decline. Some have even pointed total crop output in the country could be halved. "With global food prices at an all-time high, WFP is also concerned about the impact of the Ukraine crisis on food security globally, especially hunger hot spots," he said, warning of "collateral hunger" in other places like Egypt, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Turkey that rely heavily on Ukraine imports. QUOTE: The unfolding mayhem unleashed on Ukraine by Vladmir Putin carries one major benefit for China and two much larger losses, plus a boatload of secondary effects. The main benefit is geostrategic: The United States must now keep more scarce military resources in Europe, instead diverting them to the Pacific, as it had been hoping. . . . . Yet, any advantage to Beijing is offset by two costs that may be as just as important. The first is that China’s only major ally is now badly damaged, economically and militarily – and a pariah in the eyes of much of the world. Putin’s position may be more vulnerable, as well. . . . The second, far larger cost to China may be the deterrent effect of crippling economic sanctions. Communist party leaders, determined to seize Taiwan, must have been shocked by the scale, comprehensiveness, and devastating impact of sanctions imposed on Russia. . . . . Until Russia’s economy withered under sanctions, Beijing had little reason to fear similar punishment for invading Taiwan. After all, the world’s major economies did nothing when Beijing seized Hong Kong, in clear violation of its treaty commitments. They did nothing when they learned of the Uighurs’ mass imprisonment, “reeducation,” and deaths. They did nothing to sanction China for its role in spreading the COVID pandemic, and lying endlessly about it afterward. Based on that track record, Beijing must have figured the world would do little if it seized Taiwan. No more. https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/china-wins-little-loses-lot-russias-war-ukraine Sorry, but the CONgress, watching the world on fire, throws bullcrap in our faces.
