We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Because at this point, after having watched the smug hateful anti-science Vaxxers treat those who have made a balanced decision to forego the jab as being the same as the old Robert Kennedy "it'll give us autism" kooks and thus deserving of the Vaxxers' ignorant contempt, if I could give back my initial two shots and become unvaxxed once again, I'd do it, just to show my own contempt for them.
I am sick to death of being looked upon as anti-science by an entire cohort of idiots who couldn't tell you if mitochondria was a disease or part of a cell.
Reminds me that a couple of weeks ago I saw a doctor on CNN (I was just flipping through the channels so I didn't catch her name or what qualified her to be an expert) who was asked about the matter of booster shots. She chirpily replied that she was all for them, and after all, it was just a matter of common sense that if two doses were good, three would be better. My only thought was "I hope like heck they don't allow you to prescribe morphine if that's your attitude."
Hundreds? No, to date, for this year only (which is only 3/4's over) it's a total of 16,310 that have died. That's "trusting" the CDC's own data through the VAERS:
https://openvaers.com/covid-data
Scroll down and look at the graph when it loads.
If you're under the age of about 65 and have no co-morbidities your odds of dying of the jab (NOT a vaccine) are higher than dying of the disease itself. But, hey, facts and data should stop you from a panicked rush to a decision.
Everyone does realize that you can still catch COVID when you're vaccinated? Even if it's supposed to be a milder case. So when a country starts getting up there in vaccination rates, it would logically follow that an ever-increasing portion of the cases is going to be comprised of already-vaccinated people. And people that are genuinely compromised, and have had the vaccine, are still compromised.
I am hoping to eventually see the discussion that includes real numbers in addition to percentages, and some intellectual analysis of what the numbers mean. Right now everybody is crowing about '% vaccinated deaths' as if the vaccine is poison, but there's no discourse or analysis to put this into context. It has clearly saved a whole bunch of lives, in spite of being over-promoted.
I still cannot fathom why any sane person would want to inject an experimental vaccine into the arm of a child, as if this would protect a healthy child from any real danger. I still cannot comprehend an adult thinking their vaccination won't protect them unless & until every human on the planet has had a shot; What kind of person could use a child as a shield, in such a cynical way?
Had COVID a year ago, not vaccinated and see little reason to.
I had covid (asymptomatic) more than a year-and-a-half ago;
four months afterwards my antibody levels were ~5.0 (on a scale where anything above 1.4 is considered immune, the maximum levels being ~8.0). Currently my antibodies have declined to ~2.5, whichis more than enough. Natural immunity from previous infection is longer lasting than the temporary immunity offered by the "vaccines".
I'm not worried.
but I'm mad at the rampant hysterical overreaction of politicians and the medical industry.
Serum antibody levels drop off rapidly and dramatically. Shame Fauci can't stop lying long enough to explain how the immune systems works. Antibody levels are only a part of the immune system story and a short term part of it at that. T-cell immunity plays a much larger role as time goes by. The body cannot continue to produce antibodies ad infinitum for every injurious bacteria or virus it has encountered so we have an exquisite long term system providing long-lived bone marrow plasma cells that stand ready to fight any subsequent infection.

given the blog author's ignorance on the vaxx, not sure if their opinion on anything is worth hearing...l
Never have gotten a flu shot, haven't had the flu since the early 90's. Only got the Covid vax so that I could see and visit with my family and friends who were cowed into solitude by pandemic panic. There will not be a booster for me.
