We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
"I took my potatoes down to be mashed and headed on over to the million dollar bash."
I think Dylan did this one on of the original Basement Tapes in 1967. Those were fun, often silly tunes if you can find them anywhere (not the produced ones, the original ones). Some feel this tune was making fun of Andy Warhol, but it doesn't matter.
Fairport Convention's "Liege & Lief" was legendary among a certain type (ahem, mine) of folkie who was interested in all things British. After FC went in for changes, we migrated to Steeleye Span.
Fun video here. i had not heard it.

I sometimes wonder if the cost of the wedding is inversely proportional to the duration. Because marriage, not a party, is the focus, putting too much of your heart in one may signify not enough left over for the other.

My wife and I decided to get married at noon one day. We got the license, the required blood tests, and went to the County seat at 4pm after the blood test results came back. We were married by a blind judge (Jackson) and have been together for almost 51 years.
I have Dylan's original version of that, and some others, on my playlist, downloaded from, I don't know, itunes or something. I used to have all those bootleg vinyls, (e.g. Great White Wonder) can't believe I got rid of them in some fit of pique or purge.
Lo and Behold

Please, Mrs. Henry

Too Much of Nothing
I had the Black Cloud presents vinyl disc with all these and more.
I think Million Dollar Bash was a flip, but sincere allusion to the great supper in heaven. As in When I Paint my Masterpiece. "Along came Jones who emptied the trash" = another dream of "St Augustine" = alias Jesus.
