GMO fish? Everybody panic!

It's funny that when government scientists say that there's no disputing global warming the same people who take that as gospel are the same people who claim the government scientists are lying when they say GMO's are perfectly safe. And I suspect these are the same people who believe the COVID vaccines are perfectly safe and effective and anybody who doubts this is some kind of science denier and conspiracy theory nutbag.

I wonder if these people realize the mRNA vaccines are GMO's.

Re "Diversity training doesn't work..."

The same reason why they keep doing "sexual harassment" training: It creates a positive legal defense to accusations that management "fostered an environment" that led to alleged racial discrimination or harassment.

Companies are perceived to have "deep pockets" and are often sued for huge amounts of money over such alleged incidents. Paying consultants a few thousand dollars each year to put on these sessions is cheap insurance against settlements that can run to tens or hundreds of millions.

I never fail to be flabbergasted at the boneheadedness of "experts" who think they can engineer math "equity." Somehow they think math is not a field that requires both talent and lifelong application to become fluent and competent, let alone expert. Kind of like varsity sports, virtuoso piano, ballet, gourmet cooking, or extreme snowboarding. I notice the Wokerati send their kids to sports, music, or dance camps, and never ever advocate a side-by-side scholarship for some poor oppressed BIPOCx-y kid.

It actually does work. Just like the LGBQT keeps entrapping and then suing the Colorado cake maker for not making cakes that glorify deviant sex. Just like endless lawsuits against the boy scouts. The intent is to wear down those who they disagree with and destroy them. It works. Endless harassment until the target finally gives up.

Of course it doesn't work to make intelligent people believe that all people are equal in ability but it makes them keep their opinion to themselves. When my sister drove cross country a few months ago I warned he that when she goes through mid Western towns to not get off the freeway to eat or get gas. Why? Because the diversity hates you and may kill you or merely beat you up if you are lucky. No one in their right mind would do a walk about in East St. Louis or Cincinnati at night but wouldn't think twice about walking around in some small town in Utah. Why? Because the "diversity" will kill you if they get the chance. No amount of diversity training being taught to the people who AREN'T the problem will change that. And sadly no amount of diversity training to the sub 80 IQ people who ARE the problem can fix it. So we simply go through life making believe we are all equal in intelligence and morality but privately taking steps to prevent assault or death from those who we know are unable to live in a civilized society.

"The best anti-racist policy is school choice ". That's a great way to ameliorate racism in education, but (for me) the best anti-racist policy is the one that forgoes moving putative racial grievances to the forefront in each and every transaction, each and every discussion that takes place between humans in everyday life. Want to end racism? Stop making racism a default topic in everything; that's what's keeping it alive and flourishing.

""Homeless" is a euphemism "

For drug and alcohol addiction and to a lesser extent for mental illness. Most "normal" people who become homeless quickly take advantage of the help and opportunities that are available to get them back to living a normal life. The addicts won't and don't seek this aid simply because it would require them to kick their addiction.

You are correct about the causes. But the term "homeless" is diversionary. Homeless assumes the problem is environmental ie no home. It diverts the funding, sympathy, treatment into housing first and drug and alcohol treatment second, and mental illness treatment third.
Housing is the quick fix and least personal involvement.
The real fix is intensive personal involvement by real people counselors. Caring and social connections are the real answer.

Well, it IS a lot simpler to find developers and building contractors to suck up millions in tax dollars than it is to assemble competent staff of drug and alcohol counselors. And the campaign contribution kickbacks are better, too.

Intersectionality is very unstable. I wonder how always-believe-the-sexual-misconduct-accusations people would respond to reminders of the fact that Emmett Till was innocent.
