We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Identify that vee-hicle

La bella figura. Antonio and Gennaro often drove this model around Italy.


Fun car. Make, model, and year?


Ans: Some readers had it right -  An Alfa Romeo Giulieta Spider which were built from '55 to '64 with almost no changes.


My current ride is an ALFA Stelvio. Maserati engine. Fun car. Never had a problem with it. Always wanted an Italian car.  They are making them much better now.

1960 AR Giulietta Veloce Spider? Or Spider Veloce? Was gonna blurt "Kharman Ghia!" but then I looked again, and something reminded me of the few years I worked at a Volvo / Alfa dealership.

Show S02E01 has them driving in a very old Fiat 500.
I guess the Alfa broke down, again...

Two months with new Alfa Giulia Ti. Having had Ferraris, Porsches, Mercedes, BMW, NSX and others....nothing like the feel and soul of an Italian car. You are not a proper Petrol head until you have done so. My Ferrari made the 911 feel like a Camry...the 4 cylinder model.

We had this car in 1959 - 1961: Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint Spyder Veloce. A marvelous auto. A great deal of fun.
We never had any problems and only replaced as the Wife became pregnant with our second child. Fabulous engine; up to 7500 rpm's in normal driving and could take 10,000 when down-shifting. Most enjoyment of any car we owned (including Corvettes) !

That was the first car I dreamed of owning!

I was in high school and working after school in the public library. In my dreams it was just out of my financial reach. In reality, it could have been on another planet.

Then I grew up, just a little, and got real - a GTV!

That never happened either.
