Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

What happens when the states lift the restrictions on evictions? I live in a small town and there are a number of people who own a rental home who are on the verge of filing for bankruptcy. Imagine the numbers nationwide, I have heard estimates of 10 million possible evictions once the ban is lifted. Many of these people were getting a lot of money from the government but decided to rip off their landlord because they could. These people are unlikely to qualify for a rental in the near future. So what happens then,
It's likely that California will make it unlawful for landlords to "discriminate" against potential tenants as a result of their not paying rent during covid. Remember in California, employers can't do a criminal background check on a potential employee until well into the hiring process. I believe the same "logic" will be applied here.
I could be wrong of course. But would you bet against that outcome? Some important testimony in the Derek Chauvin trial yesterday.
The man in the car with Floyd was his drug pusher. This man has told the DA that if he is called to testify he will plead the 5th. Why? Because he knows that Floyd overdosed and HE could be charged with murder because he supplied the drugs. One of the EMTs testified that because of the angry crowd present they decided to not treat Floyd at the scene but rather to load him and get out of there. This may be the big mistake that contributed to Floyd's death. They couldn't treat him right at the point in time when seconds counted. This fact also explains why the police could do little else than subdue Floyd while theyt kept the crowd at bay. Again it would seem that the angry crowd is more responsible for delayed treatment of Floyd and perhaps they should be on trial not the cop. Quoted from the autopsy report: “No life-threatening injuries identified — “A. No facial, oral mucosal, or conjunctival petechiae “B. No injuries of anterior muscles of neck or laryngeal structures “C. No scalp soft tissue, skull, or brain injuries “D. No chest wall soft tissue injuries, rib fractures (other than a single rib fracture from CPR), vertebral column injuries, or visceral injuries “E. Incision and subcutaneous dissection of posterior and lateral neck, shoulders, back, flanks, and buttocks negative for occult trauma” In short: No bloodshot eyes and no trauma to any part of Floyd’s neck. The Supreme Court: Cowards, Crooks, or Compromised?
https://freenorthcarolina.blogspot.com/2021/04/the-supreme-court-cowards-crooks-or.html "President Trump and MAGA nation were shocked by Kavanaugh's and Barrett's silence. Kavanaugh and Barrett appear to have been "frozen" at the free throw line. It is noteworthy to mention that Kavanaugh and Barrett have the youngest children, and maybe they were frightened for their safety. Maybe. It is just so extremely odd that this multitude of legitimate cases from these multitude of battleground states with this multitude of evidence did not get enough Supreme Court members even to want to see what happened. " This will go down in history as the great mystery of why the Supreme Court refused to do their job in the face of the most blatant and widespread voter fraud election stealing in our history. Trump was duped, unfortunately, again and again by psuedo-conservative voices. I think he might have underestimated the conniving duplicity of the people that occupy the Washington cesspit. Robert Barnes warned about these (so-called) Conservative Bastion types of organizations, the Federalist Society being one of them. He's warned about many of the scores of judges appointed during Trump's tenure, and especially about Barrett and Kavanaugh, well before they've been tested.
The long list of judicial appointments has been presented as a huge victory for Conservatives, but Barnes has offered repeated rejoinders that these are Chamber-of-Commerce politics-as-usual types of personalities at work - the same cast of characters that have been shipping jobs and commerce overseas and opening up trade imbalances and other acts that, long-term, weaken the country. Like Delta airlines for example, or Coca-Cola, getting involved with HR-1. Or American Airlines, now being critical of the Texas legislation to tighten up voting procedures. Look carefully before believing anything that any politician says. Democrats will lie about anything, stupidly, that serves an immediate cynical interest. Republicans will lie about things that line their pockets, while telling you how patriotic it is to support them. If you feel the need to donate, give to the Trump PAC - Not the Republican institutions. Never fall in love with politicians or hookers....for the same reason.
I said at the time Trump nominated ACB that I hadn't been this excited about a Supreme Court pick since Bush nominated David Souter.
“This will go down in history as the great mystery of why the Supreme Court refused to do their job in the face of the most blatant and widespread voter fraud election stealing in our history.”
And our betters will toast the date of this failure as V-USA day! Once upon a time, I agreed with the ACLU's fight to defend any breach of liberties. But I discovered they cared little about the intentions of the people they defended or the social impact of their defenses. There was no balance for the rights of the offended and the offenders. Typical Liberal one sided reactions. It was all legal nitpicking with them and nothing else. I left them behind.
American Criminal Liberties Union. Been that way for quite awhile now.
>American Criminal Liberties Union.
That's not the problem; if you're fighting for civil liberties, you're mostly/inevitably going to be representing people accused of crimes. The big problem with the ACLU is they don't believe in civil liberties anymore. One of the founders of the ACLU openly admitted that it was a communist plot. It was never about the constitution it was about destroying America by overwhelming the system. The reason we have a terrible homeless problem today is 100% the result of the ACLU. The reason we have most of our social problems can be traced back to ACLU actions. The ACLU has probably been primarily responsible for more deaths of Americans than all the wars in our history.
Speech that isn't offensive to someone doesn't need First Amendment protection. That's a content neutral defense of the First Amendment. Marching nazis are a small price to pay considering the alternative: someone from MF or someone from HuffPoast deciding what speech content should or should not be allowed. The ACLU used to defend constitutional rights that way.
There are exceptions to that broad statement (child porn, fraud) but the First Amendment is equipped to deal with making those distinctions. #3.1 Aggie: THIS is why I call the GOP the "GO ALONG to GET ALONG with the DEMS" Party. It/they are untrustworthy.
ACLU: Don't trust them. The SPLC, now, them I DESPISE. Rand Paul Humiliates Dr. Fauci AGAIN Over Double-Masking: He's earned that humiliation. 40 years after Reagan, a big bet on big government: Well, since the Dems and the media are in bed together/are a cabal...and as I keep saying, I don't KNOW if one of them is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the other, but it's OBVIOUS they are in CAHOOTS... Yes, and we need to listen to a Swedish teenage girl with Asperger's and an obsessive–compulsive disorder when it comes to global climate change.
Climate change is a scam intended to increase taxes and redistribute money with a large portion of that money going to politicians and activists who push the climate change scam.
Even if climate change were real, it would be the best possible thing that could happen to humanity. Because climate is cyclical it WILL revert back to a long cold era and inevitably that will cause the death of perhaps half of the people alive when that happens. This climate we are in is the most beneficial climate in written history. It would literally be impossible for 7.9 billion people to survive if the climate was not as warm and welcoming is it has been for about 170 years or so. It will not last. The extraterrestrial factors that actually control our climate will align and create a cold wet climate soon. It could be a few years or a few decades but it will happen and it won't be because of SUVs or carbon. THAT is the science. The only surprise with Biden giving money to the Palestinians is how little he gave them. There's a whole huge industry in DC with a vested interest in making sure the Middle East remains in turmoil and that our dependence on foreign oil makes the turmoil our business, which is to say, their business. Billions of dollars just disappearing with little oversight, accountability or even acknowledgement into foreign development or redevelopment is a heck of an incentive to make sure nothing ever gets fixed.
The CDC did a study that determined that vaccinated people do not acquire nor pass on covid virus. That point is interesting of course. But hidden in that study is something more interesting. It was a study of health professionals some who had the shots and some who did not. BUT all were mask wearers. In the study of 899 people 168 of these mask wearers got covid!!! SO, do masks work??? And you know that in a health care environment that the people they encountered were required to wear masks too. So why are we still wearing masks? There must be a reason. I wonder what it is.
What's not amazing is how poor a grasp you have of statistics.
‘Entirely possible this will be used for massive-scale depopulation’
America’s Frontline Doctors (AFLDS) spoke to former Pfizer Vice President and Chief Science Officer Dr. Mike Yeadon about his views on the COVID-19 vaccine, hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin, the regulatory authorities, and more. https://www.americasfrontlinedoctors.com/exclusive-former-pfizer-vp-to-aflds-entirely-possible-this-will-be-used-for-massive-scale-depopulation/ Covid vaccines to depopulate the planet?
Definitely the stupidest thing I've read in weeks. Michael Yeadon is another anti-vaxxer idiot who predicted that the pandemic would end in October, 2020. He was not Pfizer's "Chief Science Officer" and did not work with infectious diseases or vaccines but with treatment for asthma and COPD. debunked with references here: https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/pfizer-chief-scientist-vaccines/ The Chinese were clearly using their virus lab to weaponize a virus. This virus, according to experts, is not following the script it seems to have been designed to mutate quicker and become more infectious. Right now the medical community is worrying (on the QT) that this virus will never go away and will continue to kill people 365 days a year forever; as in cannot be stopped. All of this is fact and none of this came from Michael Yeadon. Just saying.
IMHO it is good to ask question and good to be skeptical about the meme being pushed by the government or big business. Where is the harm in that? While asking questions is always good, there's a time to end the nonsense.
The virus is not likely to go away anymore than a seasonal flu or common cold will. Mutations occur naturally and inevitably, but endemic diseases like the common cold or measles tend to moderate in lethality as evolution favors a disease that doesn't kill its vectors. Measles is a good example of this, as when it first emerged from a disease of cattle it was a killer of humans on the level of smallpox. Claims that the government benefits from "control" somehow also doesn't make a lot of sense. The most important thing for a politician is to get elected and stay in office. Politicians who voted out of office, then they don't control anything. Politicians control by taxing and spending, rewarding allies, punishing enemies, getting elected and staying in office. I absolutely guarantee that a congressman or his chief of staff will take the phone call from a major contributor or bundler and an ordinary citizen will talk to a college intern. Politics means money, and a plan for destroying the tax base or the economic growth that allows supporters to reelect the politician and get rewarded for that help defies common sense. My complaint about Yeardon is that Yeardon is an anti vaxxer idiot. Covid as a bioweapon seems like a weak argument to me, apart from debatable evidence, this is a worldwide event, with blowback into China from returning overseas Chinese inevitable. And covid, which is most lethal to the elderly and compromised is not the kind of killer you'd expect from real bioweapons like weaponized bubonic plague used by the Japanese in WW2 and refined by the USSR and USA afterwards. So I'm not buying the "escaped from a lab" argument. First, I take anything Snopes says with a pretty big pinch of salt. In fact, the "Fact Check" industry is in many cases the establishment media trying to dress up their narrative with some supposedly unimpeachable sources that aren't any more reliable than the sources of the stories they're trying to sell. That isn't to defend Yeadon.
What I don't think anybody disputes is that these vaccines are classified as experimental. That there are several potential risks to taking them including sterility in women of childbearing age. That the probability of that risk is completely unknown. That the population at grave risk from the Wuhan flu is well known. That the percentage of all people who once infected will completely recover from an infection - even without treatment - is north of 99%. And that there are inexpensive treatments that are very effective at treating the virus. So the statement, "Entirely possible this will be used for massive-scale depopulation" is worth considering. Given that the population at the greatest risk is known (and are probably the best candidates for receiving any of the vaccines), the vast majority of all people who catch the Wuhan flu have a mild case, that there are effective and inexpensive treatments for the those who come down with it, does it really make sense to vaccinate women of childbearing age who are not in a high-risk population anyway and subject them to an unknown risk of sterilization? If you think it does, by all means, get vaccinated but this huge national push to vaccinate everyone with an experimental vaccine (Fauci even wants to vaccinate toddlers who have close to a 0% chance of catching it, being adversely affected by it, or passing it on to someone else) in my view is insane until the risks are quantifiable. Snopes. Which of the sources cited by Snopes do you disagree with?
I didn’t say that I necessarily disagreed with any of the sources in that particular article.
What part of my analysis did you disagree with?

Vanished!: What Happened to the Hawaii Clipper?
https://www.historynet.com/vanished-happened-hawaii-clipper.htm I wonder if the Biden Administration will take responsibility for the terrorism that's sure to follow from giving big bucks to certain parties in the Middle East.
Shooting in Boulder Colorado? What shooting? No riots, no activists fighting to get in front of a camera or microphone. No politicians no nothing. What's wrong? What's different?
Oh yeah! All the dead victims are white and the shooter is a POC and a Muslim. On a different note; looks like Pelosi was right after all. The Capitol is still under attack. Today a white supremacist, oops, it wasn't a white supremacist. "DC Police Say Muslim Attack with a Vehicle and Knife on Police by Farrakhan Supporter Noah Green on Good Friday Does Not Appear to be Terrorism" Re: Border Families
Mexicans jump over the wall because they've already been assured by family in America that they can apply for welfare, and cash assistance on the same day. It's easy. If you were Mexican, would you rather have a job in Mexico; or a free apartment and medical care in America? Washington D.C. is paying Mexicans to jump over the wall, so that any semblance of local control will disappear. The more Mexicans, the better. Soon America will be so over-run that even the thin pretense of "voting" won't be necessary. Washington will have to run everything. |
