These vaccinations aren't government mandates. If you don't want one, don't get it. The vaccine police aren't coming to get you. Maybe an ambulance, but it's your decision.

If you need a vaccine (presumably to travel across state lines although we don't actually know what restrictions are being envisioned), that is a government mandate to everybody who wants or needs to travel across state lines.

The travel industry has been lobbying the White House for setting standards for “health passes” or “passports.” According to the Business Insider, it is expected that they will be required for access to many types of private businesses and venues (https://news.yahoo.com/biden-administration-developing-national-coronavirus-132820782.html), which is more draconian than I posited above. To your point, it hasn’t happened yet. We will see what they do or not do.

Probably not constitutional if ordered by the government, probably is if it's a private business decision, but we'll see when and if and can discuss in the context of actual rules instead of the "we must be persecuted" mindset here.

So, you're conflating a concern about a government measure that would be used to control the movements of individuals - a platform for recording vaccine dosing, which could be used for other things, because that's how these things work, historically - with concerns about the medical issues related to actually getting a shot of a vaccine that hasn't been tested as exhaustively as previous vaccines have? And using the 'grow up and be manly' argument as your rhetorical foundation? Tell us why you trust the government so much, and give us some recent examples to convince us about their competence and goodwill.

" is a little bit of question-begging - just because the press hasn't been reporting any leaks from the Biden White House and just because they were reporting that Trump's White House was leaking like a sieve doesn't prove that either one of those propositions is true. All you have to note is the number of "anonymous sources say" stories they published about Trump and the dearth of such stories about Biden. What, the media suddenly have moral and ethical standards about publishing gossip, rumors, and hearsay?

That is a fair point about the receivers of the leaks, who participate as much as the leakers/non-leakers. Perhaps we should view it as an ecosystem where people do what they need to keep their jobs.

It will be interesting, and may happen sooner than later, when the system destabilises over Kamala's succession. Conservatives are focused on how the groundwork is being prepared to move her in, and that is true of some in government and many in the media. But Biden's roots go much deeper, and he has many who will want him in as long as possible, for their own needs. How the media, prefering one outcome but wanting to protect their flanks, will respond to this bears watching. Especially as both sides will be covering their leaking with full-out attacks on one conservative or another as a distraction.

My theory is that leaking in a democrat administration carries a significantly greater risk for the party at each end of the leak. Likely a mortal risk, as has been demonstrated openly.

Shafer addresses the subject of Trump Administration leaks, and then proceeds to regurgitate a long list of Fake News stories that were eventually shown to have been untrue all along, after their damage had been done. He forgot to address that particularly swampy part of the story though - trying to see if he can't get a few last shots in, I guess. Now if I recall, Biden hardly came out of his basement during the campaign, and even then only in tightly-scripted low-attendance settings. Talking about Biden Administration leaks is like discussing the architecture of Hollywood sets. There's no 'there', there.

Frank Bennet's thesis that the military's main duty is to protect the "neoliberal order" is incomplete. The woke military is being purged of conservative white men so that it can be used to suppress the white population. This is, in fact, one of the goals of the neoliberal order.

That was a good piece on Lewis's "Screwtape Proposes a Toast." At the turn of the century, National Review called his Abolition of Man one of the two most prophetic books of the 20th C. ([i1984[/i] was the other. I would have included the soft-power dystopia Brave New World, myself.)

Lewis was seldom directly political, but his cultural comments often struck to the heart of what was happening in politics, discerning the trends long before others.

Suggest you not use this term. You control the debate by controlling the terms. The left says "immigration," or "immigrants," which suggest some kind of permanent right to be here under the Immigration and Nationality Act. This is their way of winning the public relations battle because nothing short of full citizenship is the goal. But until they have a right, those people are aliens, or undocumented or illegal aliens.
