Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Only 82


Emailed with an "only 82" year-old friend this morning. He had just come back from a 3-mile run in the snow. He said that running with snow falling is exhilarating.


I remember doing that, back before I concluded that road-running was a bad idea. It truly is more fun to run in weather. 


So he is 82 and out running, and I am much younger and doing HIIT on a stupid treadmill.

How deep was the snow?

Have run 5 and 3 miles in snow last few days and it was wonderful. I’m only 62 but aspire to still be running at 82. I dislike indoor exercise but strength training is necessary as we age and so is flexibility training.

Yes, agree with the weights. I only do twice weekly with wts. Sure feels good to finish an hour.
