We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
All That Jazz is just Fosse doing his version of 8 1/2. It has some nice moments but is mostly derivative and self-aggrandizing.

That's funny, I was just thinking about this movie over the weekend and was considering recommending it to my S.I.L. Was remembering that hysterical scene when he's getting a physical examination for the life insurance policy his underwriters are demanding, and the doctor's a chain smoker that can't stop coughing the whole time.
Pretty good movie, tells a good story, Roy Scheider was great as always.
He was very good (often as the lead) in several excellent, iconic movies: The French Connection, Jaws, Marathon Man, and All That Jazz are the ones I saw and remember well.
I'm just a guy so what do I know. I see nothing in dancing, with the stars or without. It's just a strange thing that some people do. I see/hear nothing good in jazz, it's just discordant sound at best. Movies have to be "good" for me to want to watch them, something like "The Bourne Identity" but most certainly not foofoo stuff. To each their own just don't ask what I think about it and it will be fine. It's like going shopping with my wife and she hold up a sweater or shirt and says 'do you like it'. No right answer, it's a trap. But worse I don't care, I wear jeans and a t-shirt for 40 years and you ask what I think of clothes ! I don't care, they keep me warm in winter and covered legally in summer that's is all I expect of them.
I haven't been to the dentist since covid but I used to get the cleanings every 6 months. Thanks for your sincere concern.
I do think it is valid to point this out because most men feel the same way but just as they could care less about someone needing to be seen dancing they could care less about commenting on it. So without that input one might think there is some desire on the part of ordinary men to see other men dancing in tights, or even to hear strange sounds from ordinary musical instruments. I suppose we could just sit there tight lipped and feign interest in stars trying to dance on stage with comically dressed "professionals". Maybe that is the smart thing to do; make believe that there is something "normal" about this and don't make waves.
