Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

No, nothing. Now, Baker, Bruce, Clapton, collectively Cream, now you're talking. Off topic - are any Maggie's Farm bloggers or readers involved in New England-style town meetings? If so, what is happening in your area with town meetings this year, because of the pandemic lockdowns?
Here is what is happening in Vermont where I live: Most 2021 Vermont town meetings will give way to ballot votes (article in VTDigger) Here is an excellent commentary about what we are missing by changing (hopefully just for one year) from in-person meetings to ballot votes: Town Meeting (podcast at Rumble Strip] I wrote a blog post about it: Rumble Strip: Town Meeting. On social media, this issue is generating considerable discussion in my town, and I expect across Vermont. I was just wondering what is happening elsewhere in New England. Re: Chinese Communist Propaganda
I just read an article about Pepe, the domestic terrorist. https://www.adl.org/education/references/hate-symbols/pepe-the-frog The Jewish website, adl.org claims that "uncontrolled internet jokes" are domestic terrorism, therefore people who draw frog pictures should be arrested. Ashley Judd, the pretty but completely insane pussy-hat wearing singer, is also against domestic terrorism. She says that it's everywhere, all the time. Only the complete destruction of America will save the little girls who must be protected from panty sniffers. Read this: "At some point in early 2010, fans noticed that Ashley looked different ...the reason she chose to comment was "because the conversation was pointedly nasty, gendered, and misogynistic and embodies what all girls and women in our culture have to endure every day, in ways both outrageous and subtle." Those panty sniffers are everywhere! https://www.nickiswift.com/234919/tragic-details-about-ashley-judd/? It doesn't matter what the public schools teach about China. Our problem isn't primarily with with Chinese. It's with feminism, and fake Judaism which tries to pretend that it's a religion, in order to enforce a communist takeover. And Bird Dog doesn't like domestic terrorism either, so I won't try to suggest a frog-related solution. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bkjsN-J27aU You have a problem with Jews?
Fuck off you wannabe nazi shit. As we should expect when the source is Gatteway Pundit via lucianne, they get it wrong. The research paper questions why the CDC "altered the rules" from what they had been previously doing. The CDC did change its method of reporting, for the very good reason that this disease is different.
Again and again I refer people to the number of overall excess deaths since Covid came into our lives. That number is even higher than the reported Covid deaths. Over a half million more people died last year than expected. And surprise, surprise, a hell of a lot of them had Covid symptoms, a positive Covid test, or both. If you don't think it was Covid, folks, what do you think it was? Show your work, please. AVI — for another credible take on excess deaths check Ivor Cummins’ updates, available on YouTube. You may need to search for his “Fat Buddha” moniker.
Let us know what you think about his analysis. Gateway's notions are aimed right at me, and he's speaking my language and everything, but . . . I'm with you. He doesn't source carefully, I can't confirm what he alleges, and I'm done going out on a limb trying to forward his ideas to anyone else to think about. That doesn't mean he's wrong in some of his intuitive leaps, but I'm not going there without solid evidence.
Where does one find a credible COVID death count?
The statistics have been politicized from the start. I would treat any statistics from the Trump-hating bureaucracy and academia with great skepticism. WHO is bought and paid for by China. No credibility there either. The CDC totals are based on state totals. You can start by looking at the totals from states you can trust, or should. I live in NH, a purple state with a long history of spotless elections, parties showing accountability both within their own ranks and to each other, and diverse media sources. I don't know any of the main players in this controversy, but it's a small state and I know people who know many, having worked in a hospital for forty years. I believe what I see here. Compare the Dakotas, Vermont and Maine - places with high accountability and low corruption for decades upon decades. Massachusetts may be the most honest state going. They aren't sugar-coating a thing, even though it makes them look worse than they deserve.
The types of numbers they report are highly similar to most states, with only a few outliers - and you can guess who the outliers might be. Yet those are still not most of America. I therefore trust the CDC numbers as approximately true. When I need to dig deep I mentally subtract a few states which shall not be named (because I cannot prove my accusations), but the general numbers remain. As with the homicide statistics that show racial breakdowns that people don't want to see, deaths are a really hard number, checkable in the long run. The body exists or it doesn't. You can cover things up for a while, but it's not that long before even amateurs browsing the internet can start seeing that town, hospital, funeral home, cemetery, and police statistics have to roughly align. Some places have a long history of honesty, and most Americans still do their jobs. Also, be careful not to only question the numbers and be skeptical when it goes against you. I am not saying that about you personally, but that sort of willingness to confront reality even when it goes against us has been a conservative hallmark for decades, because ultimately we want to get the answer right and move on from there. But this got thrown out the window in 2020. Conservatives became little better than liberals turned inside-out last year. The CDC totals are based on the state totals. Unfortunately the state totals are based on the federal government paying extra money if the deceased has Covid or at least tests having Covid. It reminds me of how the federal government "invests" in getting the AGW statistics that it needs in order to gain more control and power. And they already admitted that testing was fake science. If people are actually afraid of the virus at least take Vit D, Vit C, and Zinc. If you still seek more safety then get a doctor to prescribe ivermectin as a preventative. What they are giving people in NOT a vaccine...it is an experimental injection and you are the Guinea pig.
I think death by falling off a ladder is caused by the blunt force trauma of hitting the pavement and not Covid-19.
Apparently you think differently, but hey ... diversity. "No, the 2020 election wasn’t stolen"
This is just the left trying to sell the grift. The election was massively stolen, new estimates show that Trump actually got 20 million more votes than Biden did. We all saw it, there is video of it, we all know they are lying to us. So this is an effort to allay the concern and claim that it was dirty tricks but not outright stealing. Trump failed? Nope: I see the Bachman article as just another in a long series of tomes now being issued to reinforce the progressive troops and de-program all those deplorable uppity Trump people. The victor re-writes the history to suit the future goals.
The Trump Administration didn't fail at the Power Game, they showed what was possible, and ripped the mask off institutionalized corruption. More properly interpreted, the Administration was not allowed to be successful, at whatever the cost. We all remember the incessant leaking from inside the Administration; the passive-aggressive insider power plays to stymie each policy move; the antagonistic judges throwing out injunctions to block; all the way up to the US Supreme Court, declining to get involved, even failing to enforce their own election dictates in Pennsylvania. As we have recently read with the TIME article and others like it - the extra-governmental force that allied and coordinated their efforts manage to stymie much of the progress that the Administration could have achieved. The conspiracy is being openly bragged about now. And yet, in spite of this, much good was accomplished. Witness how quickly and how thoroughly the new Administration is struggling to undo, by executive fiat, the signature accomplishments. Why? How many of these undoings would the Maggie's Farm community align with? Trans-men in women's sports? Stop the Border Wall? Resume Chinese influence and intellectual theft sub rosa in our universities? Rejoin the UN Human Rights council, or the Paris Climate Accord>? Re-embrace Death-To-America Iran, our friend? Which of these were failures, please? Line up for your re-indoctrination, America. Big Brother is good Trump failed? What Puppy Poop.
That is analogous to saying that the Greeks failed at Thermopylae. Trump fought a valiant, although bloodless, fight against overwhelming odds. To label it 'failure' that he could not overcome those odds is foolish; and premature. Tens of millions of Americans have seen the Washington politico- bureaucratic cabal exposed. The deviousness of the legacy media has been laid bare. It remains to be seen what effect of Trump's efforts have over time. QUOTE: Trump hired people he should never have hired, then didn't fire them when he should have. Sessions. Bolton. Nielsen. Barr. Tillerson. Mattis. Milley. Esper. Scaramucci. Omarosa. Haley. Pruitt. Wray. He even seriously considered hiring the soulless snake Mitt Romney as his secretary of state. On and on the list could go. Trump began by claiming he was only going to hire "the best people". In the end, it was Trump himself who concluded he only hired the worst people, since he so often went on social media to trash the very people he had hired. With all Trump’s successes, and he had many, I agree with Steyn here. There were several times he seemed thwarted when trying to declassify something. He should have called which ever AG was there and said this needs to get done. Do it. And fire him if he didn’t. Then go to the Assistant AG and say, this needs to get done. Do it. If he doesn’t do it, fire him and go down the org chart till it gets done. One question: Why did he not fire Chris Wray? He also had disastrous hires as Steyn notes. He also had some great ones: Pompey, Grenell, Ratcliffe, Huckabee, etc. In the end, he should have done to the swap what the Democrats are doing now - purge it of as many partisans swamp creatures and Democratic Socialists as he can find. For good or ill, our Constitutional system is set up to create that sort of gridlock. We can only hope it's at least a speed bump for Biden.
I agree vis a vis "speedbumps" but I don't believe the vast bureaucracies to which our system has devolved was ever envisioned or desired. As someone I read pointed out recently, term limiting politicians is a good thing but it's not enough - the bureaucrats are not term limited. Because they are so vast they are therefore difficult to control. As Trump found out, they frequently don't do what they are told and instead do what they want. That is why I wished he had fired A LOT more people!
It's ludicrous, actually, for anyone, except certainly die-hard Trump haters, to pass judgement on his much maligned, thwarted at every opportunity, courageous but largely unsuccessful attempt to drain the Swamp. The man, after all, is human, not some Super Hero with super human abilities to single-handedly defeat a system that has been actively corrupted for over a century.
A lessor man could not have withstood the hatred, puerile lies, and disgusting assaults against his and his families character, all while selflessly serving his country and the majority of the people who make this country a superpower. The Swamp Creatures and their minions have been exposed for what they are, solely thanks to DJT. I do not idolize him, but I do give him credit for serving heroically in the face of opposition who would stop at nothing to rid their Swampy habitat of a man bent on destroying it. During the 4 years of his Presidency his net worth went from 4 Billion to 2 Billion. One more reason those creatures of the swamp hate him. Tal Bachman: Arm chair quarterbacking. Anything a person did in the face of Covid, Covid, Covid and all the other things well listed to bring him down, my hindsight is 20/20 too!
What we should really be paying attention to is What Are They doing as the nation is distracted by impeachment. Look at this hand, not the one that is out of sight but still working. Democrats Cry Foul – Say Tom Brady Winning All Those Super Bowls During Black History Month Is “Racist”: Oh, those poor, poor, miserable Dems! Laugh and point at them, I do!
Tom Brady is the left's worst nightmare: I wouldn't know. I don't watch football. With a Star Science Reporter’s Purging, Mob Culture at The New York Times Enters a Strange New Phase: As I keep saying, I despise, detest, and totally DISTRUST the NYT (the WaPoo, too!) No, the 2020 election wasn’t stolen — but yes, it was underhandedly tilted: I haven't the time to read TIME: Like the NYT and the WaPoo, I don't trust TIME and NEWSWEAK, either, Yes the election was stolen, as well as underhandedly tilted.
... whatever his virtues, I suggest it is time for conservatives to fully accept the fact that Trump failed at the Power Game.
It seems to me this is just another way of saying there are no political solutions to our problems, only non-political ones The CDC is now suggesting that two masks are more effective. The exact opposite is true. Do the smoke test. Take a big drag on a cigarette, put on your mask and exhale. 80% or so of the smoke exits around your mask. Simply because there isn't a good seal. With two masks it takes more pressure to drive the exhale through the masks so even more exits around your mask.
Now, I believe that the CDC knows this. It isn't rocket science and someone else in a position of expertise has publicly stated exactly this. So why the advice to wear two masks??? |
