Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

Kevin Williamson is a snarky mocker of the working class of America, those trampled under foot by globalism and our corrupt elites. He got a place at the elite table by ridiculing his own roots.
J.D. Vance in the eloquent "Hillbilly Elegy" shows his humanity by never abandoning his people even though he made it to the Ivy League. Williamson is a silver tongued fraud. What Kevin Williamson doesn't acknowledge is that it was our very own skimming class that tilted the competitive playing field in favor of third world supply chains, riddled with coerced labor, child labor, dangerous working conditions, and pollution. In the 80s and 90s, I think the first corporations, who took manufacturing off shore, were not inherently anti-American. They were just cutting corners, dodging fair labor practices, getting around environmental regs, looking for cheaper energy, and getting away from having to grease the wheels for any project they wanted to build, plus obviously that was the price of entry into the Chinese market. Today, they are dedicated to the status quo and have tilted the playing field against startups, who can't hope to compete with the economies of scale that are inherent in this economy.
BTW some of this was inevitable, and it is not as though it doesn't have some benefit; it's just not a win win for everyone, especially for workers. In any case, as the numbers and power of Middle working America declined, the more global/ corporatist power grew to the point that they and their minions, in government and media/academia, totally disregard the interests of working people to the point of disdain and contempt. Just a thought, for the individual just trying to live their life, what's the difference between socialism/communism and Hitech crony capitalism. Of course, the Corporatists are trying to capture the power of capitalism for themselves, while decrying it through their "Woke" "tools". They use the power of The Regulatory State, to suppress or buy out competition, to suppress entrepreneurship, and to erect entry barriers, consolidating economic power in their own self serving and greedy hands. My guess is that whoever manages to hang onto Capitalism, wins. Look at China, they didn’t get to where they are on their own, they were handed billions of dollars worth of hard won IP, as well as, manufacturing and organization "know how" by our skimming class. And still, they have to spy and get around security measures to acquire cutting edge stuff.
American globalists are all in for appeasing Chinese hegemony due to greed but also because they will lose their investments if they don't. Re: California Is Cleansing Jews From History.
Actually, California isn't doing anything at all. This article is both funny and pathetic at the same time. The important thing to remember is that California doesn't have a "government". California has millions of freeloaders who draw enormous salaries, without providing any value. So listen: Some fat black woman sitting on her ass in Los Angeles isn't making California a "better place" by creating grievances. She's making California a worse place by trying to incite ethnic conflict. That will create millions of jobs for the freeloader's union of California. The second reason that this article is ridiculous is that there is no such thing as "ethnic studies". America is a white, Christian, Western country. The blacks and hindus and mexicans aren't even supposed to be here. There's no reason to study them. But blacks know that they aren't supposed to be here, and they're afraid of what might happen. So they try to blend-in, by creating a world of "ethnic studies". And then they wrap themselves in the flag, even though they hate everything that America represents. Blacks don't want freedom. They want to be told exactly what to do. Have you ever seen a black Marine? He's wearing at least forty badges of honor, even though he hasn't done anything. So if the Department of black freeloaders wants to study mexicans, that's fine with me. The entire school system is a waste of money; so one more stupid program jobs program for the teacher's union won't make any difference. Applying equality theory vs. Equity theory to basketball (sport chosen because it is the sport in which the number of points scored per game is highest and the effect shows best)
Equality theory: all teams play according to the same rules on regulation courts and some teams do better than others. Equity Theory: Some teams consistently score more points than others, resulting in unequal distribution of wins and losses. Last year, the Milwaukee Bucks scored 119.8 points per game (TPPG), while the New York Knicks sored 101.5 TPPG. Thus we can conclude that the rules unfairly favored the Bucks over the Knicks. To rectify this situation, this year, baskets made by the Bucks will be worth 1.85 points, while baskets made by the Knicks will be worth 2.18 points. This process will continue until all teams win and lose equal numbers of games and all teams receive participation trophies instead of one team winning a championship. You think you're being funny, but you're not. This is exactly what they've been claiming all along with this "disparate impact" crap. If minorities (women are of course minorities) don't do as well as white males, it's prima facie evidence of discrimination, there can be no other explanation. How can you know beforehand that a given act or policy is discriminatory? You can't. It's not until you see the outcome of the act or the policy that you can know. Despite the fact that some of us ignorantly insist that "fairness" lies in applying the same rules to everybody rather than acknowledging that "fairness" is a matter of equality of outcomes, how can you possibly determine equality of outcomes before you see what the outcomes are? It's absurd.
So your suggestion that Bucks baskets should be worth 1.85 points and Knicks baskets should be worth 2.18 is ridiculous - we have to wait until after the game to decide how much to adjust the worth of baskets on each side so as to ensure that we wind up with a tie game. "baskets made by the Bucks will be worth 1.85 points, while baskets made by the Knicks will be worth 2.18 points."
Whoa, isn't that the same way votes were apportioned between Trump and Biden?? +1

I love the smell of schadenfreude in the morning. Suck It, Wall Street QUOTE: It’s likely not any evil manipulation scheme, but ordinary people acting — out of self-interest, but also out of sheer enthusiasm for one of the best reasons to do just about anything, because you can — on a few simple, powerful observations. They’ve seen first that our markets are basically fake, set up to artificially accelerate the wealth divide, and not in their favor. Secondly they see that the stock market, like the ballot box, remains one of the only places where sheer numbers still matter more than capital or connections. And they’re piling on, and it’s delicious, not so much because they’re right, but because the people running for cover are so wrong, and still can’t admit it. Buy the ticket, take the ride, nitwits. If you earned anything, it’s this. https://taibbi.substack.com/p/suck-it-wall-street California Is Cleansing Jews From History: California is stupid. Evil, too.
Fairfax County teacher unions, school district clash over return to in-person learning: Can you say, union busting is due, Fairfax County? Democrats Want a 'Return to Civility'; When Did They Practice It? MY take is...never. The New York Times is deeply worried about Kristi Noem running for president in 2024: Couldn't happen to a nicer paper, and the NYT, "nice" it ain't. Deep meaning of equity: For Democrats, "It's OURS, not YOURS." Media May Ignore It, but Biden Presidency Is Already Radical: They're not ignoring it; they're REFUSING to even mention it. As I keep saying, the media and the Dems are in CAHOOTS. Biden Appeases Putin, Media Falsely Claims Biden is Tough On Him Again, Dems/Media=CAHOOTS. Are you paying attention to who Biden (Obama) is putting in his cabinet and appointing to critical positions??? Still think it isn't over? Still think 2022 will allow us to get back the House and/or the Senate? Still think America will survive this Manchurian candidate/puppet? It's over. Just some cleanup on aisle 4 and then the new world order becomes your new normal. I'm going Galt. Not today, not tomorrow but very soon. Get your house in order, pay off bills, save money, buy food... It's gonna be a rough ride.
Frequent New York Times Opinion Writer Was Secret Iranian Agent, Federal Prosecutors Charge.
The NYT has no problem publishing op-eds supporting dictatorships that trample on human rights and are also enemies of the US. Consider the time that Venezuelan dictator Maduro published an op-ed in the NYT. After all, "alternate voices" need to be given a hearing. As long as rebuttals are also published, this might be considered a reasonable POV, such as this New Republic rebuttal of Maduro's op-ed.The Most Outrageous Lie in Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro's New York Times Op-Ed. But these days, if an editor at the NYT publishes an "alternate view" that disagrees with the WOKE staff of the NYT, his head will roll, such as the fate of the NYT editor who let Tom Cotton write an op-ed. "Alternate views" at the NYT are permitted only if they agree with the WOKE narrative. My question: how does the WOKE crowd respond to editorials that condemn the Iranian Mullahs? "My question: how does the WOKE crowd respond to editorials that condemn the Iranian Mullahs?"
By blaming it on cis White males, probably. And I cannot for the life of me understand why Jews continue to vote Democrat. I'm 77, my wife and I have been staying home and not visiting friends or family since March of 2020. I miss my grandchildren, I do get to talk to them on the phone sometimes. I hate the pandemic and the mask and the worry. It reminds me of growing up in the 40's and 50's. My mother had polio when she was a child and caused one leg to be shorter than the other. But she had relatives who had far worse effects from polio. I can remember visiting an uncle in a hospital at age 4 and he was in an iron lung. He looked at us from a mirror placed above his head which was all that stuck out from the noisy green machine. About ever 2 seconds it made a terrible noise and seemed to move slightly as it breathed for him. I don't know how long he had been in it but I believe the reason my mom went to visit is he was going to die.
Polio was scary. By that I mean my mother was terrified of it and her fear was palpable to us as children. I lost a sibling to whooping cough and can remember it plainly even though I was six when he died. But he slept in my bedroom along with my older brother and he coughed in terrible ways. If you have never heard it you simple do not know the terror in gives you. To this day I can still hear it. My mother knew that polio was more commonly acquired in the Summer so she would 'Quarantine' us kids on hot days. She would pull the shades down and we simply stayed in the house. No air conditioning and no insulation in the house so if it was 100 outside it was 105 inside by 2:00 PM. Her fear was our fear even though we didn't understand. I remember when Dr. Salk created the polio vaccine. All the children go it in school and I remember it was oral; as a tiny cup of pink liquid you drank. I can't remember the grade in school, could have been 3rd grade or 6th grade. I remember the room I was in and I had the same room for both grades. After Salk's miracle the world breathed easier. What a great fear polio had given us all back then. Now it is covid. I miss my grandkids... China may very well reach there goal of world domination by
2028. They have been playing the long game for 40 years. Buying politicians and third world dictators. Not physical domination but economic. There social game of indoctrination in the US still goes on in our colleges. If they take over Taiwan, you know they are well on their way to a win. |
