Re Melania from Mollie Hemingway

PhD in Physics, speaks 6 languages, legal immigrant. Looks pretty good, too. Too good? Maybe women resent women who are too accomplished, too fascinating, too elegant, or too beautiful. I get that. I hate men who are taller or smarter than I am.

If she had only been black or a terrorists/Muslim immigrant who hated America. Maybe if she burned down businesses or was a mayor destroying small businesses. But, no! she was none of these things so we cannot put her picture on the cover.

I'm going to say what no one else will, but that we all know: This kind of thing feeds on people's sense of civility - it depends upon it. None of this despicable modern behavior, feeding on civility's carcass, will change until people start to get beaten bloody for doing it. Then, it will stop, because that's how it works.

I find it very sad that so many mouthy people despise her poise and beauty all the while drooling over the last "first lady". The behavior comparison between those two is astounding. How she holds it together when her husband and family are brutalized by the media and other politicians is more than I could stand. Even those that degrade he foreign accent, and oh, how many languages do you speak?

I think Melania is the most elegant, most dignified First Lady in living memory. She is certainly a one hundred percent improvement over her predecessor, who didn't have an iota of fashion sense or dignity, and whose only accomplishment was ruining lunch hour for a generation of school kids.

Been saying this for years. Wife and I work together and typically grocery ship together after work. Most days, I would point out how uncanny it was that neither Trump or First Lady were on any the magazine covers at check-out (Vanity Fair, People, Us, Cosmo, etc). It never computed to me that this effort could be anything other than conscious given that the Trump's were supposedly bonanzas.....

their ideals and ideals have been disproven around the world over and over again throughout history. even here, where the communal sharing of the pilgrims was a disaster. But, all progressives feel they are "the chosen ones" and will get it all right. legends in their own minds, they are resistant to truth or facts. only permanent removal works for many. I believe Melania grduated with a degree in Physics and was enrolled in a doctorate program, but was offered a big $ opportunity in the US, and took it.

The official line from the campaign and white-house has been that the former Ms Knauss "paused her studies to advance her modeling career in Milan and Paris." after beginning her first year of architecture study in a bachelors program at the University of Ljubljana.

Prior to that she graduated from the Srednja šola za oblikovanje in fotografijo Ljubljana, which is translated as "Secondary School of Design and Photography" or "High-School of Design and Photography", and I'm not really sure if that name corresponds like much eastern/central Europe to something more like a Hochschule or more like a US secondary or high school.

This is the correct info. She was apparently doing well enough in architecture, but did not graduate. She went off to a career she was well suited for.

A lot of students end up with advanced degrees before coming to grasp with the fundamentals of physics. There is a lot of language along the way and some of the measurement techniques are easier to understand when the rest "of it" starts to fall in place.

There are different ways of thinking and problem solving. In the redux, that stuff about matter and thermodynamics may become appealing.

Whatever you do, don't wear a festive, retro style shirt when someone congratulates your comprehensive understanding, of something.

My physics professor in Germany graduated with a doctorate in physics in 1939 I believe. He was immediately conscripted as a civilian science aide to a general in the German army. He was with the German army invading Poland. He told the class that he was sitting on the front stairs of a Polish Army barracks thinking about the theory of relativity when he said that he finally understood it. He was later assigned to be the science aide to General Rommel and spent a year or two in North Africa before being captured.

Well, it is easily verified that she did not attain a degree. What is interesting is that the snide author of the linked article had to make a point of the fact.

I believe that Melania has represented the United States with consummate grace and poise. By the way, I felt the same about Laura Bush; and, in her own way, Barbara Bush. That is enough for me.

As a bit of an aside, some of the most accomplished people in my own life were sans degree. While many of their contemporaries were sitting in lectures, they were out in the world obtaining the experience necessary to build businesses, and ultimately become community leaders. Now, in this era of trivial pursuits the value of many degrees is problematic.

It's been very entertaining to watch the progressive leftist press turning themselves into pretzels trying to find a way to criticize Melania. They had to give up, and just agree not to bring up the subject at all unless it was unavoidable, her executing a Duty of Position - and then, minimal coverage.

She ticks too many of the boxes, when you think about it. A cosmopolitan with intellectual accomplishments; an immigration success story; a woman of beauty. The only brush they could use was to tar her as Donald Trump's wife. And occasionally pull up her young nude modelling photos in the early part of her career. NOT Art! For that, just view our version of Piss Christ.

Unable to demean her without wounding sacred cows, they just decided not to cover her. It is indeed a badge of honor. Like the President, she's The Best in a long while and needs no one to tell her.

Every new First Lady gets pressured by the left to engage in political activity. Mrs. Obama had something like thirty girls on her staff. But the truth is that the President is not supposed to share power with his wife. She is supposed to put a mark of refinement and gentility on her husband's term in office. That means entertaining, and decorating, and making public appearances. But women in America have gone insane, and now they have an unquenchable lust for political power. Our courts, our government offices, our schools, our hospitals; all of these venues are places where women conspire to create a feminist global order. Ruled by them. So when our new First Lady declined to support the global attack upon truth and decency, all those Jewish and Black and Mexican girls got very angry. She's a traitor to the cause, so she's not going to grace the cover of any self-respecting Leninist Zine.
