Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Looks like some kind of a hawk. Just googling, and guessing from the white feathers on its legs, a red-tailed hawk which is supposedly common in Connecticut? http://wildlifeofct.com/red-tailed%20hawk.html

Sorry, I live outside the mainland U.S. so I don't see hawks often, and the ones I have seen are in California.

Looks like a Ferruginous Hawk. If it has a roundish white breast, that should be it.

Red-tailed hawk. they are all over in NE texas. had one in my backyard that enjoyed tearing apart a pigeon.

some kind of hawk, but not a red-tail. Even during the times when their tails aren't red they have a wider, fanned out tail compared to the one here

From the hint of yellow feet and the leg feathers, I'd say juvenile Bald Eagle.
