I think we're starting to see why Trump has been treated, from the beginning, as if he's some kind of poisonous toxic creature that must be destroyed at all costs. I have really struggled trying to understand the vehemence, the single-minded fury that has been directed non-stop since Day 1. Why? If the man is so inept, then he'll fail and it will be back to normal. But he has done anything but fail. He's bulled his way into successful outcomes one after the other and fulfilled more of his promises than any politician that I can remember.

So: Why? It's puzzling. I think it's because he's already rich -and Washington DC Politicians get their life sinecures by selling influence - it's that simple. Whether it's a seat on the board in the Private Sector after your term is up, or Pay-to-Play using the Clinton Foundation like a criminal PayPal, or deploying the Biden family army overseas to set up skimmable deals. All of it depends on political position. Everybody who plays the game agrees to keep quiet about it, because they're hoping one day it will be their turn to start cashing in.

Now we're seeing why they hate Trump so much. He really is an existential threat. He doesn't need wealth or influence, he already has them, and fame too. They're terrified he's going to show every American what their leaders have been doing, that he's going to show the corruption that feeds the system that has created two classes of citizens in the US - one subject to the law, one above it. Even worse: He's going to show every American how to stop it.
