We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Beans

Buying Goya this weekend?


I lived on their black beans with rice during college, and still love that combo with some garlic and chopped celery or carrots and maybe some hot sauce or chopped chilis.


The founder loves America. Complimented Obama a few years ago, now compliments Trump too and gets criticized.


Canceling Goya? No way.

Amen on Goya food products, excellent quality and fairly priced. I have buying their products for decades, their dried beans are delicious.

Being from Louisiana I have some experience with beans and rice and while I prefer pink beans, black beans have wonderful flavor that is unique.

Too bad that Tabasco sold out, their sauce is still made from the same line of peppers but the sauce is not the same.

It's funny. I bought 2 boxes of their rice yesterday or the day before.. Solely for that reason.

I have purchased their stuff before but this time I did it for political reasons.

DH is a life long fan of Tabasco. He did not know they had sold out. However, he has been commenting lately that the sauce is not the same. Let's see how long it will take to drive this one into bankruptcy? What a shame.

In the early 60's I joined the Air Force. Had never heard of Tabasco sauce. Got stationed in Mississippi and it was on the table for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Some good old Southern boys showed me how you use tabasco for breakfast on your eggs. Too strong for me but sometimes I use it when I make a Mexican meal.

Goya bankrupt? NEVAH! Great product line and fairly priced. They step up to donate any time one of their markets in the Americas has a need. Big company with a big heart. Buy Goya. Donate some to your local food bank.

Goya makes excellent products - I love their beans !

Tabasco has too much of a vinegar taste for me - I prefer Frank's , or Crystal .

Once upon a time I remember conservatives, including myself, feeling the same way about Chick-fil-A.

Then Chick-fil-A urinated on us to show their appreciation for our support.

Goya may well do the same thing, so I'll just watch for now.

Bought 3 dans of beans, a can of Chipotle, a can of green chiles, and Goya Ginger Beer. Great brand

I never fully appreciated Goya until I moved to Florida 15 years ago. I’ve learned to love their Adobo seasoning and Mojo marinade. My 10 year old daughter eats their black beans straight from the can. Great company.

We have used a lot of the Goya olive oil over the years, and its still as good as any.
