Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Calamari fishing

Springtime in New England is squid time, especially from Narragansett Bay to Cape Cod. Calamari. Delicious if not over-cooked into squid bubble gum. Squidding is mostly a nighttime game. Lights seem to attract squid.

Never been much of a fan of Calamari.

Perhaps it is overcooked when I get it? It's always tough.

Anyway, given my experience, I usually opt for something else.

I quit eating squid and octopus when I realized that they were smarter than some of my cow-orkers.

Fascinating. I love Calamari but it's hard to find in local restaurants. I think Olive Garden is the only place that has it. There are other videos out there on how to clean the squid.
