Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Got a fun 5-hour hike planned for tomorrow?

For after the morning workout, of course. 


We do. I bet Bulldog does too. I suspect Dr. Bliss has a paddle tournament tomorrow, which sounds fun. Paddle is cool, but my right shoulder can't do overheads anymore, so I am out.

Wish I did.
Fixing some things around the homestead in preparation of the coming year, which will be better than last year.

Paddle...or is it Platform Tennis?

And my knee can't handle the gritty courts anymore. I'm relegated to doubles Squash only.

The folks at the American Platform Tennis Association would tell you that there is a difference.

Different courts, different method of play.

But yes, most people call Platform Tennis "paddle" colloquially.

There'll be no exercise here. Mass at 11:30 (because I'm sleeping in and won't make the 9:00). And then it's boardgames with the family. I bought Catan for a family present and my 10 year old has won the first three games. I'm ready.

Enjoy the hike. Took a hike through the woods on Christmas tagging trees to dig up for bonsai at the end of winter. Not vigorous, but enjoyable.
