Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

Chris Wallace: Another Fox News Anchor going off about nothing. I've been seeing this for sometime now. The TDS sufferers there are coming out of the closet. It's time to drain that swamp of its toxic critters also.
It hasn't been the same since Ailes turned it over to his kids. Daddy issues? We quit watching years ago, and frankly we'd have done best to give it up as soon as Brit Hume quit doing the 6pm news. There's really no need to get news off the TV.
My wife watches Fox in the evening but not me; I've lost all faith in television as a medium unless the programming is a re-run of interest, which means at least 30 years old (and then, sparingly), or a valid documentary. Sometimes I'll watch Tucker Carlson's opening monologue, for many of the same reasons I used to watch Johnny's. But I'll only get up and go and listen if VDH is on. Since Murdoch took over Fox it has marched steadily and stealthily leftward and now it's not really much different than the other networks in format: The Shrieking Parade of Imbeciles, making listeners dumber by the hour. My dad was right to call it the Idiot Box.
I like Fox in the evening! I watch Tucker - my dose of sanity for the evening; Hannity - to hear the latest about Trump-Russia, Impeachment (I repeat myself), other political news; and sometimes Ingraham Angle - more of Hannity type stuff. Of those three, Ticker is the most important. I usually but not always agree with his conclusions. He shines a pretty white light on a lot of issues that are ignored everywhere else and he comments on them intelligently. That's a pretty powerful combination in my book.
I occasionally catch Greg Gutfeld's show for fun. It's funny and irreverent. I used to watch Special Report but quit in 2016. I used to like it but the last Presidential election was too much of a emotional roller coaster to watch it then. have a feeling I would be disappointed more often than I would like but that's only a feeling. Just my $0.02... Tucker is good, not a one trick pony he looks at a lot of issues. Hannity is good, sometimes over the top but he has good sources and breaks a lot of news. Don't overlook Brian Kilmeade, a lot more there than a pretty face. There are others too who show a lot of promise.

I should add that I watch very little TV news. I would probably watch more if my cable provider had One America News. Everything I've seen from them (they have a youtube channel) has been excellent!

Wallace and his comrades made a direct assault on the deplorables and Trump. Now he's miffed that they are called out for what they have become. He needs to pick up a case of Jack Daniels and contemplate his dream world where he and the other Frankfort school journalists question their programming and report something more associated with reality.
Defections from impeachment...my guess is that Pelosison, Kerryson, Bidenson, and a host of leakers will be on the witness stand in the Senate IF and only IF this makes it out of the house intact. I don't think the democrats want or can afford any more exposure to the political elements as they already look pretty bare assed to the public.
"Corbyn’s Inevitable Victory" Gee, what will Labor do without the ability to impeach Johnson?
Hope yesterday's election is a harbinger of 2020. Hope that the Dems are Corbynized and that the reps voting for impeachment are Swinsoned.
As for the Judiciary Committee hearings I have evolved from thinking they were lame, to bizarre, to laughable. Working Class vote: Realignment? It's beginning to look like a pattern. I don't anticipate that the Cons, and BoJo, ever expected to find themselves representing the working Middle and Main Street, any more than the GOPe did.
Calling a spade a spade.
Walcher: Forced wolf introduction debate really about cattle QUOTE: This has almost nothing to do with wildlife. One might actually admire the directness of socialist congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), for honestly admitting she wants to rid the country of cattle, a goal denied by many climate-change activists. She admits “we set a goal to get to net-zero, rather than zero emissions, in 10 years because we aren’t sure that we’ll be able to fully get rid of farting cows and airplanes that fast.” For years, environmental industry websites have used language like this: “… do not want to eliminate all grazing, but instead, we advocate for management that ensures grazing practices are sustainable, allowing lands to remain ecologically diverse with healthy, functioning ecosystems.” Translation: we want to ban cows on public lands, but can’t admit it because that might be unpopular. Indeed, it would be extremely unpopular if people understood its impact on the food supply. https://https://pagetwo.completecolorado.com/2019/12/12/walcher-forced-wolf-introduction-debate-really-about-raising-cattle/ Note:
If you want to click that link just copy it WITHOUT the first https:// then paste it into the address line. Whoops. That wasn't supposed to happen like that.
I was replacing the link and didn't backspace far enough over the first one. I absolutely loved the Clairmont Review of Books' link about the ginned-up "Hispanic" bloc. It covered all the bases and named the names of the sh_t-stirrers that drummed-up the fake category, Hispanic, for purely political purposes.
As someone who lives in the SW, I am relieved that, outside of the activist non-profits and universities (but I repeat myself), the false category did not stick. Most cogent people of Mexican and Central American descent know about their European roots, and shuck-off tawdry attempts by rabble-rousing community organizers in Tucson, LA and DC to force them into false, beggars tranches of American society. Bully for these strong citizens for resisting! And shame on the Federal Government for accommodating the Ford Foundation's scheisters by placing the NGO's astr0-turfed category :Hispanic" onto our nation's official census. Hey Chris Wallace, did Trump spy on and arrest any journalists for printing leaks, like Obama did? No? Huh.
