We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

 “We are deeply concerned that so many basic and fundamental errors were made by three separate, hand-picked investigative teams; on one of the most sensitive FBI investigations; after the matter had been briefed to the highest levels within the FBI; even though the information sought through use of FISA authority related so closely to an ongoing presidential campaign; and even though those involved with the investigation knew that their actions were likely to be subjected to close scrutiny. We believe this circumstance reflects a failure not just by those who prepared the FISA applications, but also by the managers and supervisors in the [investigation’s] chain of command, including FBI senior officials who were briefed as the investigation progressed.”

2. These weren't "errors." They were deliberate criminal acts.

James Comey used similarly strong language about Hillary Clinton's email server. Unless someone gets punished for this, none of its matters. It's just words, and words are cheap in DC.

I admit I do hold out hope that this is the volleyball set for Durham's spike.

I think that if Durham does his job properly, Horowitz's report forgotten or at best, an interesting footnote. If it's not, we are in big trouble.

Horowitz is a Democrat. The report will be useful when (aka - if) Durham starts issuing indictments to show that the prosecutions are not politically motivated.

Remember that Prosecutors and IGs have very different charters. A prosecutor has the charge to enforce the law; an IG's charge is to protect the integrity of the organization. So when presented with a set of facts, an IG is likely to assign anything short of a videotaped conversation with a guy in a black hat saying "See here, boys, this is how we're going to get him" as being attributable to negligence, while a prosecutor will be willing to assign ulterior motives.

The whole point of the Comey-Clinton scandal was that Comey crossed that line, acting to preserve integrity at the expense of enforcing statutes.
