- January 2017: The same day Trump was inaugurated, the Washington Post ran a story saying that the “effort to impeach Trump is already underway.”

- It’s amazing that after more than two years of Russia, we could well be on the road to impeachment after less than a week of Ukraine.

Sent a post card to the White House today saying thank you for Trump representing the American people. Also wrote on an RNC "survey" that I would give directly to Trump campaign. He's given more hope in his idiotic way than anything in the RNC.

Impeachment is driven by the funds which the media drumbeat raises. Congressional staffs need these funds to advance their careers and our Congress people are run by their staffs.

Good point. McCain Finegold relegated members to fund raising. All legislation is now written by staff, who then move on to lobbying or administration to write the regs.

...and Elizabeth Warren will zip on her new human skin (over the real lizard one): The nice, normal, cultured lady from Boston who will be the gentle and kind foil to Trump's arrogant abrasive boorishness. She will be untouchable because anything Trump says will be portrayed (by the Dept. of the Media) as misogynistic bullying. It's going to be a miserable year. But I am guessing that Trump already knows his cards, and Warren's. And as someone else said: She has the soul of a Hall Monitor.

Thank you, for a very specific reason! I work in acute psychiatric crisis management, and "Why now?" is one of the questions we have to keep asking ourselves. It is a no-judgement question, as we all easily forget it and need to be reminded by other clinicians. The patient has a terrible history of abuse and is currently homeless. Yes, but that was equally true a week ago, a month ago, a year ago, and they were not admitted in crisis. What is driving this episode right now? It focuses the mind.

They are nearly all liberals, some radical liberals, especially the younger ones. They will be all abuzz about the Trump impeachment, and I have been wondering what I should highlight in my response. This is it. "Why now?"

No guarantee it will work, certainly. Very little works with this crew. But a few might be able to hear this. Thank you again.

Harris is imploding, Warren has little to no appeal to blacks, and Biden who is leading among blacks is now deeply if not mortally wounded by the scandal.

Provide some minimal cover re Ukraine for Biden against Trump's attacks should he win the nomination.

The economy is going to stay strong for at least another year, especially in the Midwest industrial/agricultural areas (China has blinked on pork and soybean tariffs), and we're going to weather whatever storm blows over the Saudi-Iran situation.

Bad news will continue to drip from the investigations into the provenience of Crossfire Hurricane, the Steele Dossier, et al.

Opening multiple avenues of investigation provides maximum discomfort for Trump while also working to delay the production of an actual impeachment document. I remain unconvinced that Pelosi actually wants to go full steam ahead on impeachment. She only has to delay about another four to six months because nobody in her caucus is going to want to vote on it in the middle of campaign season. Jim Gergahty's Jolt this morning gave the timeline for the Clinton impeachment. It was about six months from Starr Report to the Senate vote.

I get the feeling that Trump is going to begin dishing out a little discomfort himself (e.g., references to Crowdstrike, etc.). He doesn't seem the sort to just sit back and take it, and has had a few years to understand just what he's up against and prepare a response.

Their 2020 candidates are objectively horrible - promising quite clearly to hamstring the economy and tax the bejesus out of people who've finally started getting ahead.

So their only hope is to paint Trump as so corrupt and horrible that their candidate is preferable.

The real problem is that Trump isn't a career politician. He's not obviously corrupt, the skeletons in his closet are already out and dancing a conga with him, and the results of his policies are frankly rather stellar.

Compare him to the current crop and the only hope they've got is a public witch trial on the flimsiest of evidence and metaphorical burning at the stake. But he's not playing by their rules - and he's showing them that the 'gotchas!' they have are nothing.

bing bing bing we have a winner. Plus nearly 70% of the base favor it and it's maybe the only thing they all agree on. This is a way to accomplish a few things like fund raising, pleasing the base with new theater and also how about getting ahead of this since the transcript reveals that a new Ukranian prosecutor started in September. This was coming out so how to make it useful vs trying to bury it. Prevent Ukraine from braking this first and smear the credibility. Also think Hillary has fingerprints on this in more than one way (her people representing deep whistle) since she is backing Warren. Good way to knee cap Biden and maybe take him out or if he survives, let the scandal peak too soon, like Warren's DNA. Also if the Kavanaugh flare up was an indicator of Ginsberg not making it to Thanks Giving it might be a next move to weaken the will of Rinos like Romney ahead of an impending light show and vote. So we have had a trial pretend recession, Kav 2.0 and now this. What's next? Aren't we all getting a bit immune to this? I'm at wait a week and we'll have our laugh as it implodes on them. I'm laughing at Drudge now. He's as bad as Romney.

I suspect the answer lies with overlaying the timeline of the 2020 Presidential primaries, conventions, and election campaigns with the timeline requirements of the impeachment process. Time (and timing) is of the essence. There isn't much time left. They have to steal as much of Trump's free time as possible, and get impeachment moved far enough along to get the hearings rolling into the daily uninterrupted news cycle. There just wasn't time to let the Ukraine farce come to a boil.

Why Now....The Dem party is filled with metrosexuals and bitter old hags and they want Biden out of the way.
Also why not now....they have nothing else going for them and they resent the hell out of the Deplorables that kicked their butts out of power, revenge is the only dish being served and it's what they gorge themselves on while nervously awaiting the conclusion of Russia, Russia, Russia. Their administrative state could be ripped to shreds and as neutered as they have become.
