We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
This fails to include the fact that the media is actively lying to America about everything. The media knows EXACTLY what they are doing. This gives the impression that the media 'misunderstood' Trump and his supporters. No, they didn't. They just want to destroy him and everything he stands for, and they are actively participating in this. No hope for them at all.
I am not a racist. I am not steeped in 'racial thinking'. I am not a White Supremacist. I am not a homophobe. I am not 'Deplorable'. I am not any of the things that the Democratic party blithely calls me in order to silence me or my opinions.
Insult me, revile me, insist people like me are the problem with this country... and then ask me to vote for you promising vague benefits, half-assed ideas and massive amounts of taxes and spending.
No. Just... no.
I don't want to be controlled by the Democratic party and its ideas. I don't want the country to go in the direction they point and that the USSR and Venezuela show are destructive as anything. As far as I'm concerned, they're showing they'd willingly throw away the country's future for a few years of political power.
No. I will not vote for that.
I will not vote, now or ever, for any politician that's pushing policies that I believe are destructive. That I've SEEN are destructive in other countries, no matter how they're prettied up for public consumption. Who think that political promises are something that you're not supposed to even TRY to keep, having managed to suck in the gullible saps long enough to gain power.
No. I've heard enough promises. I've SEEN the 'unexpected results' of things like Obamacare and Cash For Clunkers. I EXPECT that anything they even TRY to do is going to cost a hell of a lot more than they say and deliver a lot less.
But more importantly, they've pissed me off. I mean REALLY pissed me off. Their actions, the sheer screaming eternal tantrums of the last three years have convinced me that the Dems are NOT competent to or capable of running this country, any more than a screaming toddler is capable of being a functioning adult. I don't know if this is something they can grow out of, but they're going to have to WANT to grow out of it, and I see no signs of that.
So - we'll see what happens in 2020. Are enough of us pissed off enough to refute their plans? Or are enough fooled sufficiently to vote for whatever feckless lump of fecal material that rises to the top of the Democrat electoral cesspool process? We'll see. But I won't be voting for any D, and I'll be donating to whoever I think has the best chance to beat a D from here on.
Because the survival of the country is more important than Democratic egos, more important than them filling their bank accounts, more important than their desire to 'leave a legacy' - and I'm pretty darn sure at this point that the emphasis on being 'On the Right Side Of History' simply means "We don't have any good reasons at all to vote for us, but if you don't YOU'RE A BAD PERSON."
Heh. I'll take that - gladly. They hate me already - what can they possibly say that'll convince me they don't?
The Media doesn’t understand Trump voters because the Media doesn’t want to, any more than they wanted to understand the Tea Party movement. To understand is to cover news, and to cover is to allow others to understand and maybe start changing their views.
It is taking a long time to shuck the carcass of the Obama years and the damage wrought by its subrosa endorsement of 'radical change by any means'. Who knows if ultimately it will be seen as a toxic and shameful time. Social Engineering campaigns have been deployed to bend corporations, universities, local governments, and other institutions – but the failures are many and they are starting to aggregate in the public’s awareness.
David Brock and his league of poisonous sh*tweasels notwithstanding, sooner or later the profit motive is going to re-assert itself in the world of media conglomerates and consumer retail. No business concern can prosper by ignoring the needs and interests of half of a huge market of potential customers, much less by alienating and offending them via relentless and fundamentally disingenuous attack. It’s taking a while but the tide is turning.
Don’t forget to hold up your end; participate selectively, or decline to, selectively.
Look, the Government has been working toward a specific outcome for the last fifty years: a communist takeover. President Trump I believe has the best of intentions, but at the end if the day, he's only one man. He can only do so much. Hampering the President is the fact that unions wield so much power. They can swing elections. But there will never be a national debate about the utility or usefulness of the unions. When is the last time that you ever even heard them mentioned? Destroying the power of the unions will be tough, but it's got to be done.
Guess you didn't notice the multi-state raid on the UAW just the other day? The raids in Chicago (union stronghold)? Union corruption being outed weekly by the DOJ (read their website news once in awhile).
I wish the UAW were the entire problem. There are dozens of interlocking unions. The most problematic is the AFGE. It's my understanding that the President has the power to eliminate the AFGE. But there's a problem. Unions members are extremely violent. Truly, we are being held hostage.

The Media is 96% Democrat.
Only if you avoid that reality can you pretend The Media's behavior requires deep thinking to explain.
