Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Psychiatric Diagnoses.

People need to meet a few people with schizophrenia before they start claiming that diagnosis isn't really about anything.

Thinking about Colorado’s new Red Flag law, how does one prove that he is not crazy? Colorado is going to break down doors, root through your home and confiscate all your firearms, based upon an individual contacting a judge, claiming you are unhinged and will certainly use your firearms to do harm to someone. You will then have a hearing a few weeks later to try and prove that you in fact are not crazy and should have your property returned, after paying legal fees, storage costs and other assorted fees. Welcome to the Lefts America. Of course they will rename America, because as we learned yesterday, the very word America, is offensive. God help us.

People with mental health issues adapt. They "can" act fairly normal when they feel it is in their best interest. They can also go batshit crazy over nothing or at least nothing that you discern as worthy of getting angry over. Both of these things make them potentially dangerous.

Had an Aunt with schizophrenia and no one questioned the diagnosis and I doubt anyone would have considered her normal 1000 years ago. The current fad of psychiatry to normalize homosexuality, transsexuality, and currently working to normalize pedophilia is rooted in a social disease called political correctness and has little connection to anything "scientific". These are learned behavior and have no connection to genetic abnormalities...and that is not accepted in our current dysfunctional society.

The Amazon warehouse sounds a lot like the UPS warehouse I worked in to supplement my VA benefits during college. Enabled me and my wife to get through college with no debt and some in the bank, and I never had to go to the gym.

Cockpit Voice Recorder:I found it interesting that the pilot unions of the day were dead set against Cockpit Voice Recorders. Nothing ever changes because today they're dead set against Cockpit Video Recorders. How many accidents would have been solved immediately had we been able to see what the flight crew was doing?
