We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

In my experience, all modern ships have excellent gyms with ocean views. All modern or modernized hotels have good gyms. Luckily for me, because my day can not begin without 2 coffees and an hour workout of some sort.
Its not exactly secret knowledge that being fit makes you feel healthy and better. So the following question is asked:
The number of white collar jobs overtook that of blue collar jobs in the mid 1950's. So why did the fitness revolution not take off until the late 1970's, more than 20 years after this crossover point?
