We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
Sure, I believe it but I don't believe it's due to a diet. I believe it's due to the woman having enough inner strength to curb her calories and exercise. The most successful diet plan in America is Weight Watchers with 7% of their members at their goal weight a year later. Weight loss is in your head, not your gut.
I took my grandchildren to a neighborhood pool for swim classes this morning. After about half an hour I noticed a lot of very overweight older, as in elderly, women appearing. Turns out it was a water aerobics class. Talk about wasted effort, some of these women were bumping 300 pounds. The best exercise they could do would be to lay the fork down.
You have no idea how easy it is to see the scale rise in one's later years, even though thinking being healthy. At least give those women credit for getting out to exercise instead of going all superior. You sound like a Democrat.
I second it, lay the fork down! This nation is becoming sicker due to unrestrained victimhood, entitlement thinking, and looking for a quick fix for self created problems. If we over consume, our bodies suffer the consequences. Period. There are natural laws that cannot be ignored, just as the consequences cannot be wished away or ignored. Lack of self restraint is the problem and increasing self regulation is the solution. It is the same solution for those with student loan debt who want (“need”) a bailout from the rest of us (“government”). No one put a gun to a borrower’s head forcing them into debt, nor did anyone have high fat, high sugar desserts force-fed. It is the same (but I repeat myself) thing! Probably preaching to the choir here—-

BTW you don't need to buy pills for keto, but I'm pretty sure every regular reader of this site knows that.
Here’s a diet—figure out how many calories you burn on an average day and eat fewer than that. It doesn’t have a catchy name, there’s no pills or books to sell, but it works. I call it the "put down the fork" diet.
But we know that's not the whole story, or no one would get thin in a famine.
I agree it's a lot more complicated when the food is abundantly available. It's like saying the cure for alcoholism is to drink less, which is certainly true, but not many of us can claim to have perfect rational control over our behavior. We do self-destructive things to soothe, numb, or avoid.
Being overweight is a hormonal problem (e.g. insulin), not calorie intake. There is a 5000 calorie challenge where those on a keto diet eat 5000 calories per day, which is hard to do. Most end up losing weight. Look up Dr. Jason Fung on youtube. A Keto diet and fasting can heal these hormonal challenges. You cannot do this via a pill.
I, for one, will never give-in to society's bourgeois standards of beauty. After the revolution, we will all be beautiful! Pink roses will float through the air, and little cherubs will dance gaily around, spreading the good news. Huge fat women in bikinis will smile in front of an adoring audience, as they celebrate their emancipation from the patriarchy.
It doesn't seem make sense that adding ketones would work if you keep eating carbs and sugar. For people who are accustomed to eating a lot of sugary food, perhaps adding ketones helps their body start weaning off glucose for everything--but they still have to stop eating the carbs I've lost about 40 lbs pretty easily with a high-fat low-carb diet and intermittent fasting--after 40 years of being on starvation low calorie diets which never worked after the first week and a half. I suppose if you naturally have a very high metabolism cutting calories might work. But for people like me who have a very slow metabolism, the metabolism just keeps getting slower and the fatigue becomes impossible to deal with. I could pretty much guarantee you that if we ever have a famine I will be the last person to die.
In the thin picture the figure reveling outfit would show enormous amounts of flabby skin folded and rumpled. So either they are not the same person or she has had extensive cosmetic surgery to remove 40 lbs or so of loose skin. So, yeah, it's fake.
