Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Although Richter's interpretations went out of style a long time ago, he was a purist in many ways, a brilliant musician, and also something of a tragic hero, in the music world. I am glad to see this post, and will enjoy making the re-acquaintance of some soloists from what for me was a happier time. Thank you.

Where is it written that hornists have to play left-handed? And I don't need reminding that they do make right-handed horns.

I've always thought Hermann Prey was the best of the German tenors.

Much more manly than Ficsher- Diskoll (spelling wrong but you know who I mean.)
