We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
I saw the show just once. Just happened to catch the infamous masturbation episode. Actually, I didn't watch the whole thing.

I gave up on sit-cons once I realized that it was not humor but simply insulting and laughing at dysfunctional characters. In real life that would be discrimination to make fun of the mentally ill.
The beauty of Seinfeld is that they make fun of themselves, it's the whole point of the show. It's the only comedy show I've watched in 25 years. Someday someone will write a book about the philosophy of Seinfeld as they pretty much covered any situation you'll ever find yourself in one of their shows. For my money, it's the best show that's ever been on TV.
Seinfeld just wasn't funny. It wasn't demeaning or sardonic, it wasn't funny. It wasn't truthful which usually makes things funny but instead it was self loathing.
