Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Excellent interview


Naval Ravikant is one of the truly smart guys. Deep thinker, legendary reader, genius investor, and wise beyond his years. Also, humorous, humble, and a good talker. Quite the human package. I like his line about happiness being an escape from the web of desire and acceptance of the present. 


The only thing I have in common with him is reading multiple books at the same time. 


Scott Adams interviewed him yesterday on the podcast and Scott rightly kept himself out of it, mostly.

His idea to sell America made me sick. Stopped listening after that.

I didn't have the patience to listen to the guy. He kinda got on my nerves. I wouldn't call him a big reader. Speed reading and basically thumbing through piles of books is not my idea of reading. I like to savor my books. I quit at about 13 minutes.
