Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

Class-signaling disguised as virtue-signaling


Refined Conservatives find Trump distasteful.  Of course they do.  Amusing.


Some people would rather lose while holding on to their class/virtue-signaling bona fides.

They aren't refined. They're neutered. It's why we voted for Trump. They're too busy trying to be popular with their "honored opposition" than to get in the battle and get dirty. The word "metrosexual" was coined to explain their lack of calluses and no T.

Even though I was alone in the room watching the SOTU when was done I applauded. And I LOVED the USA chanting.

I thought that the speech was brilliant. I haven't heard one as good, even Reagan's speeches weren't as good as Trump's. He hit all the points and left out the phony crap. It was so obviously good that Schumer and others who try to claim it was not look the fool. They would be wiser to say nothing rather than call attention to their pure partisanship motives.

I have belonged to some upper crusty clubs begat by those of generational wealth, and lemme tell ya...when they're nekked in the locker room, they make Trump look like a choir boy.
