We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
The teams of good guys who replaced bad wood with azic and repainted our house thought it was fun to renovate one of my wren houses too during their lunch breaks (sometimes chickadees take it, though. I don't care).
RJT, if you reduce the entry to 1-1/8" you will have all the wrens, chickadees, and titmice that you want.....this size is too small for English sparrows. You'll have to forgo the warblers though.
Bird Dog, I've never checked it, but is Azec completely non-toxic to the birds? A lot of the time these newly installed composites give off vapors in the early post-manufacture times, as the phenolic compounds start to oxidize. The inside of the birdhouse is a confined space. Don't know, just sayin'.
