We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

I am not surprised that the writer of the CS Lewis article went to a school like Grove City. He is likely to find Georgetown less supportive.

Lewis's Abolition of Man was similarly and equally prescient. That man could see at a far distance where a particular line of thought was going to end up.

Sure, buddy. Remember, we've been dead for 25+ years now, killed by catastrophic warming we were warned we only had five years to reverse.

Germany found it wasn't - that it was far too expensive. They had to go back to coal - lignite coal - that was quite... dirty as far as the atmosphere went. Net loss there...

If the anti-warming folk were REALLY serious, there'd have been an all-out, throttles to the firewall push BY THEM from the start to develop nuclear power. Instead, a lot of connected folks got good money to put up windmills and solar panels that have a ROI that'll never work out.

This is where you point out the errors. Then we fix them, where appropriate. Are you saying it would not take a constitutional amendment? The constitution says "Representatives shall be apportioned among the several States according to their respective numbers, counting the whole number of persons in each State" Are you arguing that children and undocumented residents are not persons?

The Falsebot has resorted to repeating back replies from real human people persons word for word. It's become a trend.

This indicates - exactly per opinion about falsebotism of late - that it cannot process subjective, organic thought from real human people persons. While it's Pedantry Module 1500 and Sheer Falsehood Unit 5000 are unmitigated successes, obviously it cannot deal with next-level resistance, that being direct challenges to the falseness of its core programming.

It can find no references over on Google to but you're the epitome of bad faith arguments, Falsebot, and since you have made yourself predictably meddlesome and loathsome you'll get no more from me.

Nice graph of the "estimated unauthorized immigrant population." There is no explanation for how those "estimates" were derived and since we constantly hear about all those "unauthorized immigrants" are in the shadows, I would give very little credence to them.

I learned today that Trump was responsible for the deaths of 3,000 people as a result of the hurricane in Puerto Rico, and then he had the gall to deny that 3,000 people died.

Just because they could only show that 64 died doesn't mean that 3,000 didn't die, right?
