Dave Rubin deals with an angry oppressed student at UNH

Sheesh. How do you talk with somebody like that? It's always been interesting to me how it is possible to use a victim pose to bully or attack others. Problem is, victim posture supports self-esteem and seems to morally justify obnoxiousness - but gets your own life nowhere. Well, being hostile is fun in some ways.

Apparently UNH is a hotbed of oppression, racism and misogyny, so that's a shame. Poor gal is blind to her incredible privilege. Her superiority tone bugs the heck out of me.

I will say a prayer for any man she marries.

Classic response heard over and over from the progressive complainers: I won't respond to you because it will take too much energy. (Why don't you pay me?)

It's their classic or typical response because they are simply parroting what their leftist professors have told them rather than actually thinking for themselves. The silence (or in some cases endless repetition of the original slogans, rhetoric, etc.) comes when they are asked a question such as Rubin posed and they have to actually think for themselves.

I watched this the other day and I thought he missed a real opportunity for a teaching moment.

When the woman with the microphone asked him if "hate" speech against Jewish people did not promote violence against them.

To me, the obvious answer was this question back to her, "Do you really think that prohibiting that 'hate' speech is going to end anti-antisemitism or any other kind of bigotry?"

A minor complaint, really. I have a lot of respect for Dave Rubin. He's an honest and truly tolerant person.

I'd watched that before, she is supremely annoying but watched it again to delight in her figurative self-immolation. Rubin didn't do it on purpose but he let her speak long enough that she made his point. And she managed to alienate herself from many of the folks in the crowd. Insufferable, and not a particularly articulate or clear thinker besides.

Crybullies don't need to be understood. They need to understand the rest of us and the world they live in. The best way to help them understand is to stand aside and let reality smack them upside the head with a clue-by-four.

She provided excellent evidence for his point about people seeking victimhood. After her false dichotomies about what he was claiming, she quickly went to asking about whether she would have to be lynched for he and his supporters to believe prejudice is real. I made a similar speech at the dinner table. When I was 13.

But hey! She's a double major!

People claiming to be victims are really telling you that they are losers. They are really telling you they can't cope with or overcome adversity, they are just a hapless, not to say helpless, loser. Avoid such people. Normally I am against lynching but she might change my mind.
