Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

A Cape Cod day

That's what I call these cool (low 60s), windy, and drizzly days in New England. They lift the soul. This is a pic of one of Wellfleet's ocean beaches - part of The Great Beach.


Thoreau hiked the glorious length of the Great Beach (Chatham to Provincetown), and wrote about it in Cape Cod.  It's a Bird Dog family place, a place to love. No gardening needed- nature does it perfectly.

Yes, the damp drizzly weather yesterday was quite refreshing compared to the hot, humid weather left behind on Wednesday when my son-in-law, daughter, granddaughter, and I departed Greenville, SC for the Providence airport. I am typing this comment while I look out over the river in Westport, MA--my father's hometown--for the first time in 34 years. Thanks to all the folks at Maggie's Farm for helping me stay in touch with the other half of my roots.
