We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
"Would A Prosecutor Ever Misuse His Powers To Remove A Political Opponent?" Absolutely the case in Missouri, and unfortunately his own party that didn't get their guy into the governorship is leading the fight along with the Dems to get rid of Eric Greitens. A couple of days before the case might have been dropped for lying about evidence by the prosecuting circuit attorney in STL, the Republican Attorney General now running for senator in MO against Claire McCaskill gave evidence to the prosecution he has known about for months, yet waited until the case might be dropped. What the Hell is the matter with the Republicans? None of them ever stand up for their people like the Dems. Yes Greitens should not have had an affair, but he did before he was governor and isn't the only politician to do so. Simply their guy didn't get in office so the new idea , just like what they are doing Trump, is get them out any which way you can. Much of this centers round Right To Work and the push by the Dems and unions. All of them RATS!
There will be political battles within the Republican party as the alt right nationalists take over from the international socialists like the Bushes, McCain, Flake, Graham, and the old Nixonian group. The same battle has raged in the Democratic party with the international Marxist/islamists replacing the old liberal group that made up the Humphrey, Carter, Lieberman, Stephenson socialists.
Well, the Korean War isn't over yet - but this is more movement than we've seen in decades.
That's the difference between politicians and businessmen. To someone like Trump, a problem is something to be solved as quickly and inexpensively as possible, to get on with the job.
To a politician, a problem is something to be 'managed' - to be milked for any political advantage as long as possible, because a solved problem is useless when it comes time to grub for votes.
We're used to a political class that does the bare minimum to pretend to solve the issues it faces. Trump... doesn't. And if he keeps on like this, I'll have no problems at all voting for him in 2020.
I voted for Trump, like his take no prisoners MO, and if today was election day 2020, would vote for him again. But, let's wait until there are real world changes in NK before celebrating. We've talked with them before, more than once, fruitlessly in the long run.
It is interesting how willing some people are to "give Mueller the benefit of the doubt" because no one knows if there is any There" there. Let's be honest. The Mueller investigation is a massive coverup of Obama's and Hillary's crimes in the previous 8 years AND a palace coup to overthrow the duly elected president. Even if Mueller can find something, some thing Trump did years ago or some foolish statement that can be spun into appearing to be "something" how is that relevant to his presidency and the voters choice?
IMHO if and when the next Democrat president is elected the outgoing Republican president, Trump or maybe Pence, has an obligation to appoint a special prosecutor to investigate the incoming president with no limits on his powers to investigate anything.
Heathrow Terminal 5:
Was surprised to be pulled out of security line for “possessing a sharp object”. Turns out it was just the Hook’s 15 yr cheddar I was taking to a client in Bangalore. 😜
Back in the day, flew through 9/11 with offspring heading to eastern Slovakia for post-secondary education. That was interesting. Returning some ten days later, was much relieved to see young males were double-checked at Heathrow security.
One of our pastors was flying back to the U.S. from Ireland on 9/11. Flight got diverted to Nova Scotia where he spent several days enjoying the hospitality of Nova Scotians.
Sleepy Sessions ,that's funny.I am kinda looking forward to see what Kate McKinnon does with Sleepy's character on SNL.One of the few bright spots on SNL.
