Maggie's Farm

We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.

She was a mediocre Bolshie apparatchik who got a lot of mileage out of her knowledge of English and the "Madame Prime Minister" shtick.

She was the last Labor-left leader that refused to embrace the fiction of the "Palestinian People".

Most Israelis remember her for her disastrous handling of the tensions leading up to the Yom Kippur War.

This is mean-spirited.
An American from Milwaukee, Golde Meir dedicated to saving the Jewish people and building a State for them. She contributed profoundly to that. That she erred with the Yom Kippur war preparation (as did most of her ministers including Moshe Dayan) is correct. But, she gave more of herself than most of us have given of ourselves for the sake of her people (not for some ideology).
No reason to dismiss a person's entire life because of some ideological prejudice.
Be kind. We learn that in Kindergarten.
