We are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for.
A tune of comfort for the Trump-discomforted. Really, things will be ok. In fact, things are pretty good now. Jobs for everybody, no big wars, lower taxes. "Don't bring everybody down."
I just don't see how anybody could be so heartless as to make fun of this situation - have you not heard the congressional gym locker room is low on towels and the WH press room vending machine is out of snacks?
Not disagreeing with you; just disagreeing with your choice of phrases.
Things are not "pretty good now." Things are, in fact, pretty freaking awesome!
After the eight long years of Obamanation in which so many friends and family have struggled with on-again-off-again temp jobs, everyone I know now has a fulltime, permanent job with benefits.
I know folks who are now looking at buying homes for the first time - because they have confidence, a real confidence -not the "hope and change hype" confidence, in the future.
And, the best of all - many of the SJWs and other idiots on the left are having meltdowns.
Charles, What state do you live in? Where is the economy that good? I'm wondering because you said that everyone you know now has a full-time, permanent job with benefits and I have several friends who are struggling to find full time jobs after a life time of being in the work force (one as a 20 year full time teacher who was laid off). Just today I was confronted with a situation that I'm trying to help with. Not everyone who is unemployed or under employed and struggling to improve their situation deserves to be there...the person I was talking with today said that to the best of her ability she believed that she was doing everything right every step of the way.
Charles - sounds great, and my best wishes to everyone. Just make sure they're not going overboard with mortgages as interest rates can and do rise. Am seeing the effects here in Canada, but think offsprings (and associated businesses they own) are okay so far.
