Maggie's FarmWe are a commune of inquiring, skeptical, politically centrist, capitalist, anglophile, traditionalist New England Yankee humans, humanoids, and animals with many interests beyond and above politics. Each of us has had a high-school education (or GED), but all had ADD so didn't pay attention very well, especially the dogs. Each one of us does "try my best to be just like I am," and none of us enjoys working for others, including for Maggie, from whom we receive neither a nickel nor a dime. Freedom from nags, cranks, government, do-gooders, control-freaks and idiots is all that we ask for. |

Re: Golden Age of Drag
For me, the golden age of drag was the early '70's - my older brother had come back from Vietnam and used a chunk of his money on the new Norton 850, the neighbor kids with their Suzukis and Hondas were green. Then came the Yamaha XS11 and suddenly bikes with automobile-sized motors (and curb weights) were all the rage and running the bikes from the stop sign to the mailbox (exactly a quarter-mile) just wasn't the same. Re: Rep DeSantis: Classified Intel Memo
#ReleaseTheMemo Interesting that every congress critter, plus their staff, get to see this report, but We the People are left in the dark. It must be very bad news for the uni-party.
I’m sure someone will leak parts of it. An email with an attached scan to WikiLeaks from an anonymous Gmail account should do the trick in a pinch.
Why couldn't Jim Jordan just get a cold?

Strange Accent: Used on radio, too.
NY Hedge Fund Tax: SMART move, Gov.! Nice foot ya got there; be a shame anything should happen to it. SPLC: I was on their mailing list for a short time, until I returned their postage-paid envelope with a note that I considered THEM a hate group. Been SPLC-free since then. This sort of thing almost never happens in government: I read Don Surber every day. I recommend him to you. NHS Cancer Hospital: Paullie "The Beard" Krugman ASSURES me this is a lie, because the hospital is run by the British government. Thanks for the link to the Peterson story. I knew most of it, but I can use it to educate my students with a fair and balanced story. If I were teaching journalism, THIS is what I would tell my students to strive for in a news story: tell the whole story and let your audience make up their own minds.
Loved the Stossel video on the SPLC, too. It is so Orwellian that our media has swallowed SPLC directives whole yet question the picture of a pie posted by a Trump spokesman. Stossel is such a rare voice of common sense. God bless him! I can't help but think that the real reason for the shut down is because the investigation into Hillary, Mueller, the FBI, the CIA and the Obama administration has become a full blown conspiracy/constitutional crisis. There is so much information coming out now that anything, any diversion would be better for the Democrats than the sunshine will be. It is a plus that with the shut down congress cannot easily pursue these new leads and revelations.
I hear that Horowitz, Sessions and a couple of congresscritters are real heroes for walking this slow and steady to capture as much foolproof evidence as possible in order to regain our Constitutional rights and rule of law.
The President picked some great administrators. Now settle down with your popcorn and brew of choice to watch the show. QUOTE: It is a circle of “intelligence laundering”. The DOJ (National Security Division), and FBI (Counterintelligence Division), worked together on the enterprise. This collaboration is where the insider “small group” participants assemble, intersect and ultimately redistribute themselves into the Mueller investigation with the help of Mueller’s adviser, FBI Chief Legal Counsel James Baker. https://theconservativetreehouse.com/2018/01/19/the-evidence-inside-the-house-intel-committee-four-page-fisa-memo/ #ReleaseTheMemo California is no stranger to transportation boondoggles. When I was a kid living in what is now Silicon Valley, there was a 'bridge to nowhere' over 280 as you headed to San Jose. An exchange between freeways had never been completed. You would drive under a HUGE crisscross of overpasses never completed. It was ALWAYS like this for as long as I could remember. Stayed there for years and years.
I think it was when I was in high school that they finally built the entire thing. This is how California has always worked. Even when it was less liberal than it is now. The state is way too big to make logical decision making... We found out why all the actors from Hollywood’s Golden Age have such a distinct and strange accent (h/t SDA)

I don't understand that because it's not that complicated, it's pretty straightforward. I feel like it's pretty simple. QUOTE: New Study Just Threw Cold Water On Worst-Case Global Warming Scenarios The study found a climate sensitivity of 2.2 - 3.4ºC with a most likely value of 2.8ºC. A rise of 2-3ºC will cause vast changes to climate. ...all the variables, or "known unknowns," make accurate predictions about the climate "impossible" — a reality the IPCC admitted in its 2007 report, which stated, "The long-term prediction of future climate states is not possible."
